I purchased hoteles.mobi in .pool auction.
I also purchased 200 "hotels and travel" mobi domains.
I think "hotel" will be one of the best .mobi development possibility.


I have received a $10 000 offer for 50 of the xxxxhotels.mobi domains in the following list.
I also received $500 offers (each) for 5 xxxxhotels.mobi domains.
I refused all two.

I will probably sell them to get cash to develop hoteles.mobi and oteller.mobi but I prefer wait a best offer.
What do you think of these offers ?
Thoughts about these travel and hotels domains ?

Nice list Colombani, although 10k is a big number IMO if all go's well with mobi you are sitting on 5-10X that in names.

I would say hedge your bet and sell 1/4 or 1/2 the names so that you have covered your costs and have some development capital.

Colombani, my suggestion is, being that as I recall you have about a gazillion mobis, I'd pic a few universal developable ones to keep and develop, like fivestarhotels, lasvegasvacations, cajunfood and the like and give consideration to either the package offer, or the single offers. In all reality you probably won't be individually developing all the different country hotel ones, etc., and have more than enough in your portfolio to go thru this same situation down the line. In the mean time you've gotten some money back, and your portfolio is now a bit more managable. I'm on the side of .mobi going on for awhile, but we all want to be careful of having too many 'not coveted' names to deal with in a worse case scenerio. JMO.

The offer is tempting, but would it be too difficult to tie in as an aff to a global hotel database and, serve up the hotel data for each areahotels.mobi... using a common template? Ie. you wouldn't need to develop each separately.

Why not try that route first, give it a few months or long enough to test traffic/monetization trends before accepting an offer? You have over a year before renewal time... and that way you could extrapolate for a more accurate monetization forecast to appraise their true worth... it seems traffic to developed sites is doubling every 3 mths at this point... may take longer to assess traffic with parked sites, unless they're adult perhaps.

$10,000 for 50 hotels names is only $200 each. These are the type of names that mobi is all about. Localized content. You might be able to get $10,000 per name 5 years from now. No way in hell I would sell for that low a price.

I agree. There are a couple of names in there that are probably worth $5,000 each right now. Take a good look at those names; they are stellar.
