This is not new. Most large sales are to investors who think they can get a 5x return.I'd pick up homepro.now for $15 on Spaceship before throwing away $23k on an ai name in home services space. Likely just an "investor" thinking it's worth more than he paid for it. Check back in a year like the vast majority of other unimaginable sales and it won't be developed. Check back in 2 years and it will be available for dropcatch.
.ai sales moving to 2 words and brandables.
Definitely not illogical.

Go ask a few dozen folks which domain makes the most sense:
HomePro.ai
HomePro.io
HomePro.now
Assuming they're not domainers, every single one will answer HomePro.now as it immediately conveys "I need a home pro now" not some ai bot or tech company.
Like I said homepro.ai will likely never be developed. It'll just keep exchanging hands among domainers each time at a lower price.
The buyer is not that 'few dozen folks'. They're probably thinking of founding AI powered smart home appliances so that's why they specifically choose the .AI extension.Go ask a few dozen folks which domain makes the most sense
I simply don't care since the money wasn't coming out of my pocket. I don't think the seller is concerned about this point either.Like I said homepro.ai will likely never be developed.
