The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Yeah unless someone reports I don't think it's a worry if everyone misspells the domain.
I just like to see coherent conversations. But I don't like looking 7 places to find them.

There has been a lot of things going on over there. But some of what you see in spike is from allowing PC to 2D desktop the experience. And more leading into ces but just recently, there was this...
https://www.hardocp.com/news/2018/0...helplessly_as_another_user_has_ingame_seizure

But I am a firm believer in 'social rooms' for VR.
VRChatrooms, VRChatz, VRTrainingroom(s), VRFitnessroom(s) VRDatingroom(s)
and many 'rooms' for VR social.

I think there's no doubt that the VRChat app is starting to take off. Hopefully it is going to be the killer social app that drives headset adoption. The likes of Pewdiepie - the most subscribed YouTuber in the world with 60 million subscribers - is promoting it heavily (I think HTC are sponsoring him)

Yes, I remember you have vr chatroom names. I just checked my SEDO account and I see I've had 60 visits this month for ChatroomsVR.

Yes, I remember you have vr chatroom names. I just checked my SEDO account and I see I've had 60 visits this month for ChatroomsVR.

Ya know, I got so tired of getting not just heavy hits to some sites, but I had about 30 names getting 30-100 clicks a month for a few cents at best. And I don't seem to be allowed to even see what they are being presented with. (what they are clicking on) If I knew that, I might have stayed with it. So I changed most of those to a direct 'sales lander' with finance options for BIN.
Wish I would have done that with most a year ago. I did keep those that are making money on their own parked. It's not that many though.
But yea, I find room as the most descriptive word for social VR. But not the only one.
I think it may be 2 years for them to be in the spotlight.

For VRChat, I originally thought the 2D desktops would ruin the whole thing. But it is a excellent lead-in.
I just hope they know when to pull the plug on those. They already have a problem with malware in
un-official software. But what a promotion with the top youtuber !
Times be a changin'

One other interesting pair of AR Glasses shown at CES 2018.
http://www.scmp.com/lifestyle/artic...ai-promise-end-those-awkward-moments-when-you

Everyone should know I don't like the term AI for it is used very loosely and none that I have seen is truly Artificial Intelligence. These glasses are a mere HUD and the camera will send off a volumetric encoded photo to a database for a fuzzy logic match and display the text caption associated with that person place or thing on the HUD. Just like a iPhoneX and FaceID
The term 'Glasshole' may have continued meaning.

OK all you Holo fans... caught this the other day...
The future of 3D holograms comes into focus
https://www.computerworld.com/artic...-future-of-3d-holograms-comes-into-focus.html
The one thing in that mess that stood out to me was the HP-Zvr
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/monitors/product-detail.html?oid=7445887#!tab=specs
To me this is just a 3D monitor. A HD version at that. You must wear light separating specs to view.
But at $3999 list price...
It's purely a enterprise play. But I still wonder who's going to be buying ! All cool stuff though.

How to make money in VR

Virtual Reality Arcades is where the BIG MONEY is at for VR Developers. Exhibit A: Star Wars at Downtown Disney

Article by Micah Blumberg, Vision Agency MicrodoseVR.com, Organizer at SF VR 360, Neurohaxor at VRMA.io

In this article I am going to explain why the big money for VR developers is not in publishing to stores like Steam VR, Viveport or Oculus Home, but instead the big money is at VR Arcades.

STAR WARS at a VR Arcade in Downtown Disney, it’s rolling out to new locations soon.
In the next couple years developers with triple AAA VR titles should be looking to get installed in VR Arcades or LBE Location Based Experiences if they want to make real money.

Wargaming to Develop ‘World of Tanks VR’ for VR Arcades

Wargaming—the company behind free-to-play titles World of Tanks (2010), World of Warplanes (2013), and World of Warships (2015)—has announced development of a new title, World of Tanks VR, under development for deployment into VR arcades.

While the original World of Tanks itself isn’t getting VR support (at least for now), the company has announced the formation of Neurogaming, a new VR studio that’s a joint venture between Wargaming and VRTech, a Russia-based VR developer.

Here is a story a little late... from nov 2017
HolodeckVR's HoloPong (they also have a pacman version HoloPac)
According to the article, 2 sizes of gameplay, 20x20 meter (65x65ft) and a massive 200x200 meter
https://www.wired.co.uk/article/holodeckvr-virtual-gaming-virtual-reality
I see it as the beginning of something great. Once you get the logistical stuff worked out, this stuff can be fluffed up to something special. I remember playing PONG on Magnavox Odyssey in Nov 1972
magnavoxodyssey.gif

No upgrades for that PONG until Atari 2600 that I also had in 1978

Looking at this weeks DNJ sales report... http://dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm
VR.Berlin sold for $8.5k
But I have been taken back by the sales of 'bit' & crypto names.
While I am sure some of those are actually going to be in end use, I have had a hard time finding them in sales up to now. Seems like the time to sell'm if you got'm.
