The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com and it was another remarkable week. There was another six-figure .com sale, the biggest .US sale ever reported and the 2nd biggest .net sale of 2006. Things usually slow down in the summer, but nothing seems to be able to derail the domain business which continues to broaden with higher prices in multiple extensions. Our new Top 20 all-extension chart includes 3 .orgs. 2 .nets and 3 ccTLDs (representing the U.S., Germany and Spain), as well as the usual complement of .com standouts. Read all about it through the link below:

DNJournal.com Weekly Domain Sales Report

While you are on the site, check out an interesting item in the Lowdown section about the migration of network TV advertising dollars to the web this summer. It's one of the reasons the domain business has been able to avoid the summer doldrums that slow down so many other industries.

This week also brought the highest .US sale ever reported as Dan Ryan let ******.us go for $30,000 in a private sale to eclipse the previous leader, Jew.us, a domain that sold for $29,500 in January. Business.us is believed to have sold for over $50,000 this year but the actual price was never revealed.
Actually, I believe the business dot us sale occurred early last fall but none-the-less, since that time dot us prices have risen steadily - a trend that is most easily tracked through the higher prices paid in many documented three-letter dot us domain sales - the value of which have increased 300% to 400% since last summer/fall.

You would know. :)

Time goes by so quickly I didn't realize that deal was late 2005. Changing the wording to reflect that.

He's a sly one. You notice how his signature was not included in that post. :p

Didn't Yakov buy Fashion.us for mid $xx,xxx in 2004 as well?
(the final price was never verified/revealed as far as I know.)

Don't mean to sound like a "hype"-ster, but .US is going to be so big. The .com market of available names is shrinking and more attention shifting to the natural appeal and recognition of cctld's.

Carlton,

I believe the proper terms for people like you are ".US Fanboy" or ".US Cheerleader".

At least... that's what they are always calling me.

I believe and hereby submit that the proper term for a wise .US investor is "geniUS" :tu:

It's amazing to see how far the US market has gone. There are still a few good names out there, but I've been passing them over (money issues) for some .com's. I hope I don't later regret it. :alien:
