Help? Is .co.in (or other .xx.in) treated as subdomain+domain by Google?

Yes, you got the question in the title.

We all know that co.uk, as a comparison, is treated like one domain by Google (and Yahoo) though .co might be seen as a subdomain.

But, what about the indian domains .gen.in etc, are they treated like one domain by Google? Otherwise these domains will never stand up as well
rank-wise.

There are some countries with two domain parts as above, do Google treat them all like one?
