In the past week something start to push me in direction to search and register a fresh .com's. ( Not only brandable names, but also 2 word which means something )

What I was thinking about is:

We living in dynamic world, every day is a chance some industry to come with a new micro niche - this automatically will generate options for new domain registration ( I'm thinking only about .com, xyz, muz, nuz, vuz :D etc are not desirable for me ).

With a deep search, definitely we can find famous or not so famous places and location for which .com domains are still available for registration. ( I can give you example if you need - 5 letter .com)

New business coming around and create a new opportunities for creative people and this generate future options ( simple example is PayPal - think how many similar services come around in last few years )

My question is: Can we say, straight away for new hand reg. .com domain "This is a premium domain" - of course if you catch the new wave....

Thanks in advance

P.S. Apology for my English, but I believe, you get the idea

No doubt you can still find ok to good (even great at times) hand regs but it takes an awful lot of work. One of the problems is that when you really 'dive into the mines' (not sure who used this expression, Rick?), you start to find hundreds and hundreds of names that are "OK". But "OK" really isn't good enough. Sure, some sell every now and then (and we need those OK inventory names, too) but you should really go for only "good" or better names (this is of course highly subjective). And to find those, and to avoid the temptation to reg too much "OK" names), is a much more difficult task. IMO.

Yes, make sense, but in last few months I'm selling more hand reg.. then aged domains ( of course not for 25k, but still generate some sales in xxx and xxxx range )

there is no secret tips, I just list my domains in Sedo, Flippa, Godaddy, NP,BB, my website, eBay, Twitter, LinkedIn and FB most of the time with normal price or make offer option and wait...

Don't you incur lot of listing fees once you put them all over the place. I mean Sedo, Flippa,, Go Daddy ( Premium listing) all of them cost money. Think about if you have 200-300 domains, the listing fees would be quite high.

I'm not paying for premium listing ( flippa free catalog, sedo is free to list, godaddy $5 per year and you get options for premium listing, eBay is 0.30 per ad ) and I keep around 50 - 60 domains in my portfolio

I just wondering is there anyone who like hand reg domains and what is your opinion about them, do you find good available .com's often or no....

I like to spend time checking for available domains, sometimes I'm very productive ( my opinion :D )

Found some good brandables through hand reg

There are still some good names out there. Part of the reason names sell on brand markets is it saves the buyer time, alot of time, in looking for a good available name.

Now domainer to domainer is a different story, doubt there are any 2k hand regs transactions in this side of the market.

Yes! there will always be room for .com hand-regs... because hand regs are the frontier of domaining.

After all, EVERY aftermarket domain was once a hand reg... that got dumped. (which means that most aftermarket names are actually The 'crap handregs' ... as folks hold their premium hand regs.

Saying that hand reg'd names are crap, but the same names are now valuable because they got dropped and are now aftermarket domains -- is actually what's crap.

Being the first to hand reg 'beachfront property' in the next popular 'hot niche' area is the pinnacle of property markets... as it is almost always more profitable than buying and reselling pre-owned property.

I love hand-reg's. Play around with different ideas almost every night.

bonin, BB? Probably just a brain fart, but what website are you referring to?

You are correct. Unfortunately it is a pervasive and elitist attitude in domaining, that hand regs are trash. But besides finding an occasional gem, there are always new trends and opportunities that could make a name in demand. Probably like everyone here, I keep a list on my phone of every new word or idea I hear about. Then every few days I research the idea or word and look for names to support them. It is a lot of work, but I view it as prospecting, just like a gold miner. I sort through a lot of crap, but the allure of the big one being on the next page keeps me focused and motivated.

There's also something to be said about putting your mind through the exercise. I recently snagged dronelicencing.com as a hand-reg, for example. Americans spell it 'licensing', but 'licence' is used as a noun by much of the rest of the world, and 'drone licencing' has 128,000 results on Google.

Hand registered a minute ago RNMNB.com - short for Renminbi, Chinese currency.
So now I wonder why Chinese have been registering bunch of LLLLL.com patterns for Chinese Premiums and forgot to look for the one which has premium letters and could be meaningful abbreviation for their currency?! ))

Glad to see another voice adding to those who say that there is value in hand registered domains as I too believe there are some good money to be made with them.

All of my sales ( excluding lllls ) come from hand registered domains.

I like handreg too. But due to my lack of sense of good domain names, i just preferred dropped ones a fraction more than fresh hand reg. But, Its hard to find 'great' names on dropped list that is not being watched by DropCatch.
