    Hi

    most focus on sales

but they rarely talk about "how to buy" domains

I think that is where your sights should be

take a look thru the domains wanted threads and go back a few years.

notice what buyers are looking for and see how many of your names, fit any of their criteria, specifically.

now, that's not a definitive standard by which to judge, but it may give you idea of what buyers here are seeking

    imo.......

    Quick Tip!
Send outbound emails, look for possible endusers for your domains. Today I got a response from a outbound email I sent yesterday...

Try to liquidate your names here and start all over... is the other option you have. Keep working everyday, this is a never stopping job!

if you want to sell on name pro! I don't think its just about good domain! sometime, if you have good rep, most of the time, they will buy some of your domain! but if you have bad Rep, probably they will just ignore you! unless you have 4L.com and you sell very cheap, something like $xxx, I am sure they will buy your stuff fast!

I have observed that flippa is not good because they support their own old sellers so I bought my domain domainsclub(dot)org to start my new setup. I hope you will guide me in future...

Keep the handset one, put it on Sedo or whatever, and all others - just let them expire, learn your lessons, and move on.

By doing outbound email, how do you look for the right people to contact?

What I do is look at the whois, check company linkedin and search the employees inside the company, connect with them and send email, and all who has replied to me has rejected my offer.

First check Google, search the Official Website of the company you want to reach out. And then try to find the decision maker email/contact info... Don't spam linkedin employeers, that's why you have been rejected.

Watched the episode on Domainsherpa.com where Drew talked about the purchase of BreakBread.com.
Why he felt it was a great investment compared to similar names. Then turned around and sold 5 months later for much more. Great episode. :xf.smile:

There is no information on your landing pages that the domains are for sale. Just a "Coming soon" and some ads.

It’s very possible to find buyers here on NamePros; however, you will sell for much higher prices if you target end users. There really aren’t end users hanging around on domain forums, just other resellers who will mostly want to pay reseller pricing not end user prices. There is endless reading here so go back and read everything you can!

One piece of advice to you before you go crazy registering and buying names, take the time to read as much as you can on here rather than wasting your money and time on domains only to find you’re not able to sell them. Most new people go on a binge registering mediocre domains and then they get discouraged and say there’s no money to be made in this business. It takes time, hard work, and patience. It’s definitely not a get rich overnight business.

Best of luck to you! 🙂

Sell those names for whatever you can get and buy better names at auctions.
Don't buy dot coms or dot cc, dot coms are too expensive and dot cc
has no value and high renewal fees. Look for single word or single
name dot us. You can still get those relatively inexpensively.
Check domain names with estibot and never pay
more than 20% of what estibot says it is worth.

Some good advice here - I'd maybe look at keeping handset.cc and look at letting the others go at whatever price you can get for them.

civilauthority.com is a decent looking name, but I don't see how you develop that or sell to an end-user. That's one of the challenges with domaining, lots of domains look good, but most of them are practically worthless.

You could definitely try selling them on Namepros, but just remember that a lot of Namepros members are seasoned, experienced and knowledgeable domainers, who can recognize the value of a domain pretty much straight away - you won't sell them on here unless you price for a quick sale..

Fittingly, there is a bargain bin section of the marketplace where you may be able to recoup 40%-50% of your registration fee ($4-$5 per name). I'd suggest you do that with the majority of your domains, earn a little money back and then put that money towards 1-2 stronger domains.

Some may disagree with me here, but I'd also learn the ropes of selling 1-2 domains at a time before investing in other names. Try some of the sales strategies that have already been highlighted in this thread with only a couple of names in your portfolio and then only invest further if you see some initial success or determine that the domains are unsellable.

At which point, make a note of the lessons you have learned along the way, continue to devour any piece of domaining information you can get your hands on and repeat the process.

Providing you make the effort to expand your knowledge, you should see the quality of your portfolio and your skills as a domainer increase accordingly.

I feel as a newbie, I should not be looking to hand register and put myself into selling brandable domains simply because I don't have enough knowledge, money and most importantly patience to do so. Instead trying making minimum profit while you learn the game.
