now that GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is so hyped,
and news GPT .com sold for over $40k,
chatgpt.com valued at $29 bio. recently,

its maybe time to have a small but dedicated thread for GPT.

What is the reason you publicly stated someone else’s sale? Why not the seller do it for themselves? And then you get upset about being tagged when you posted it publicly to Twitter.

if i tag your name with false information are you going to be happy with it ?

i rondomly typed the name (i usually do that daily with many tending names) and saw it was sold. Checked the last price data on expireddomains. It was 29k and than double checked with the potential buyer and he said yes he bought it. And came to share on my twitter. I thought it was helping domain community to share sale datas. And yes i found out all this data by my own working, seeing right to share.

So the buyer you double checked and know personally bought it for $29,000 to relisted it again for $29,000?

Or the seller sold a name for $29,000 and did not take a move to delet the listings after payment?

Hmm...

I suspect that interest/value for such domains has been perking up a bit in light of the initial (albeit still "non-final") determination by the USPTO that the term is not registrable as a trademark...

I kind of wonder whether OpenAI will try to argue back, or perhaps consider shifting their strategy. I could see a business rationale for simply embracing it as widespread term that they helped "put on the map," etc.

At the moment, we are in a very strange position:

People, End-Users, Developers aso. simply don't know, what the ultimate outcome will be.

Will it be, as some say, a synthetic solution, that for one OpenAI has a say, but not as much as needed to forbid companies to name their product ....GPT,
or will it be totally in favor for OpenAI,
or totally against its claim?!

We simply don't know, that's why the market has tanked, more or less.
