Hi

I've been submitting 3 related websites to directories the past few months.
Also with the help of google analystics I've been improving the intern/extern links.

Remarkably only 2 to 3 links are showing up when I use

link:www.mywebsite.com

To be honest, I've submitted the websites at least 200 times (manually).
Around 85% of them have been accepted.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Peter

Try google webmaster account.

Once you verify the site ownership you can see all the backlinks from your google webmaster account.

Thanks.

as nick says, use google webmaster tool to find your backlinks. google doesn't show all the backlinks on the search results searching for backlinks. you can also use yahoo site explorer in the same manner which will more than likely show more backlinks than google.

couple of reason for which google is not showing your backlinks.

1. it takes google more time than yahoo to show the backlinks. sometimes it can take as much as 2-3 months for a link to get credited to you
2. since you are using directory submission as a link building method, you need to consider tha fact that directories place your link on inner pages which is oftent several clicks away fromn home page. it takes time for search engines to crawl thru all the pages to go to the page where your link is listed and then to assign the backlink to you. lot of backlinks will never see the light of the day

i would suggest you to diversify your link building campaing and not just depend on one specific link building method

Google only shows a sample of your links in link:domain.tld query. You should either use yahoo site explorer or google webmaster tools to find all your links. Be aware that link snapshot in GWT is slightly outdated.
