GoDaddy is domain squaking?

So, several searches on other registrars shows some domains taken. I do the same search on Godaddy and it is available! But, for a "Premium Domain Price" of several thousand dollars. What is this? This looks to be like they are registering popular domains and selling them back to the public at a higher value. Can they do this legally? Am I missing something here? Thanks.

it's other domainers who are selling those names.

put your mouse over the little yellow question mark next to "Premium Domain Names"

Oh. Thanks. I guess I was missing that. They are selling them through Godaddy then? Because the other registrars don't list them as available.

they're not available, not all registrars are members of the DDN program, here's an article:
