Hi,

I have purchased a co.uk domain at Godaddy and asked them about the transfer procedure of co.uk domains to another account. The reply was like:

Thank you for contacting customer service. .UK domains cannot be transferred from one account to another. However, for domains that can be, the process is simple, and involves only emails, with no paperwork or cost.

Now I'm quite pissed off. I thought that ALL domains regged at Godaddy can be pushed without a problem!?

Did the customer rep tell BS? What are your experiences? How do I get rid of this domain if I wanna sell it??

Thanks!

Mike

I have pushed .co.uk domains from one account to another account with GoDaddy no problem but you still need to do the paperwork with Nominet.org.uk as you would do with any .co.uk domain name to transfer ownership....its down to nominet not GoDaddy

Thanks for clarifying and I thought I would have to sit on it forever.

When you push I guess the whois changes accordingly also without nominet, doesn't it? If it does then you can save the paperwork and extra fees IMO if your data remains in nominet but whois changes to new owner.

I have received again a reply after asking once more why an internal transfer is not possible and got this:

You can transfer a .UK domain to another registrar, just not into another Go Daddy account. To do this we would need to verify your request to transfer and the new receiving registrar. You would then need the IPS tag for the domain.

If you would like to change the IPS tag for your .UK domain, please provide the following information:

Domain Name:
IPS Tag to change to:

Once we have that information, we will pass it along to the appropriate department. They will verify the request, and then contact the .UK Registry to complete the change.

@NickStagg

How long has your last co.uk push been? Maybe Godaddy changed their rules in the meantime. Am a bit confused now to be honest. What is an IPS tag? What is he talking about?

If an internal push is indeed possible, I guess the whois automatically changes to the new owner even without nominet, doesn't it?

Thanks
Mike
