An awesome 7 weeks for Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" at the top of the UK singles chart.

Something tells me they won't beat the record number of weeks at the top of the chart, currently held by Bryan Adams. His song "(Everything I do) I Do It For You" stayed 16 weeks at number one in 1991.

Another few weeks for "Crazy" would be good though, it's a great song.
You can hear it on their MySpace - http://www.myspace.com/gnarlsbarkley

I really wish I'd bid on the domain "GnarlsBarkley.info" when it was up for Live Auction a few weeks ago. A very nice domain especially if they release another great single like Crazy.

I love the video, just like those inkblot tests.
Simple but effective.

I can't believe it.... Gnarls Barkley are going to delete the song from the charts this week. It's ninth week at number one.

I've gotta say it - what a bunch of complete morons. >:(

Gnarls Barkley delete chart-topper
The reign of 'Crazy' is over

Gnarls Barkley are to delete their chat-topper 'Crazy' tomorrow (May 29), ending its run of nine consecutive weeks at the top of the charts.

The band now want to focus on the follow-up single, 'Smiley Faces', which is scheduled for a release on July 17.

Speaking in the character pf Gnarls Barkley, the band explained in a statement: "I consider myself a realist. I suppose that goes for most of us. But I have found a way to at once hold them, fold them, walk away and run. This was not a painless decision. But pain is nothing but a bi-product of beauty. Potentially toxic, to be sure, but that's all it is."

'Crazy' made music history when the track became the first to top the UK singles chart on download sales alone, and is the longest running Number One single since Wet Wet Wet's 'Love Is All Around' in 1994.

From the marketing perspective it is an OK idea but why can't they just postpone their second single and let Crazy finish out its run.

They've already equalled Queen's time at the top of the chart with Bohemian Rhapsody, not many bands can say their single equalled (or was better than) a great band like Queen's.

As for "people getting sick of it" - it's been 9 weeks, what difference will a couple more weeks make to that?

It's just flawed thinking IMHO and very disappointing.

Maybe it's a secret ploy to sell more copies (or downloads). Just like the marketing 'gurus' who pull their product saying it won't be available for a couple of months so buy now while you can.

Listen to the song at myspace.com/gnarlsbarkley until they change it that is.
