So, I wasn't exactly sure which sub forum to put this in, but this one seemed the most appropriate since it deals with Traffic Monetization. As time has gone by, over the last few years, I have noticed that more and more visitors are using adblockers. Just this month, I finally hit the point where about 50% of my website viewers are not seeing any ads on my sites. Well, I can really only gauge this by adsense, but for all of my adsense sites last week, I had approximately 15,000 visitors. Of those visitors, my adsense account only showed ads displayed for approximately 7,000 hits.

For the past year, it has gotten steadily worse.... Are other people experiencing the same thing? I know there are ways to combat this, by installing scripts that detect ad blockers and simply not allowing those users to view your pages, but what else is there to do? The same goes for my affiliate sites..... Although most of my CJ affiliate links still show with AdBlock Plus, the most common of ad blockers. However, all amazon links are completely blocked. Is this something that we are just supposed to accept as web developers? I honestly see this getting to the point that many web sites will simply stop operating because they are unable to produce viable income. Any opinions or thoughts on this problem?

7000/15000 is pretty good.

I'm averaging 1000/30000-60000 and its not only ad blockers. Goog doesn't serve ads at times or serve PSAs, which are not counted as impressions.

Basically Goog has done it to itself and now is just like the behemoths it thought it would beat. Sad to see 'original' ideas going to the dogs.

Holy smokes! 1K/30k-60K!? I would leave google altogether if it got that bad. I am genuinely considering adding scripts to block users that ad block my sites. After all, what good is a visitor that isn't going to help support my sites.

Hmmmm. It would be a lot of work to come up with total page views across all my sites but I usually run 20K+ impressions/month and my Adsense is increasing at a more or less study rate.

i would try kontera.com or chitika for other monetization programs.
