Trademarks will at some point stop the internet

Because if trademarks stop website addresses etc it will reduce the number of websites that can be built because of the shortage of available to use website addresses at a time when more businesses are trying to build an online pressence etc

Interestingly

In the uk right now there is an auction of a

1 letter 1 number .co.uk and .uk

Website address etc which may or may not be subject to trademarks etc

At the same time that an exact match uk personalised licence plate is being sold at a different auction eg an auctiom specifically for uk personalised numberplates that can only go on uk cars etc

The website address may be subject to trademarks but the exact match uk numberplate isnt

The uk numberplate has a bid of at least £165k gbp and will probably sell for in excess of £500k+ comfortably becaise it is also the exact match of a london postcode area etc

But if a person bought the number plate and the two uk website addresses they could have their brand as their uk numberplate which would also be their website address

But both the pkate are for sale at the moment in different auctions etc
