I actually saw what I thought was a better .AI possibility in the long list of 5 digit words still available as .AI's to register and thought maybe this one is better than Jangly.ai. As 3 .ai's iare my budget limit ($450) Elmore.ai, YNR.ai & the "controversial" Jangly.ai, I thought I'd take advantage of Godaddy's cancellation policy as suggested n NamePros. Well for any of you who purchase .AI domains from Godaddy, their refund policy excludes .AI. Oh, well. I know my Financial limit & am not going to get the .AI I wanted on the list as I don't want to expende $600 on four .Ai's

The non-refundable nature of .AI domain registrations is a policy set at the registry level. This is not just a policy of individual registrars like GoDaddy.

Ah I did not know this - I saw on X someone say Spaceship refunded their .AI reg they made like an hour afterwards. Goes to show you can't believe so much of what's out there on X.

Or my interpretation is not correct for all individual registrars. So I'd like to know more about this. Is there a specific X posting you can point to? Thanks.

I just spent like 10 mins looking for it but not luck yet. It's been at least a week and X also shows me so much random stuff/people I'll never see again I don't know if I'll be able to find it. Tried searching a few keyword variants but no luck yet

Going to ask about it though as I am also very curious. I know 100% someone claimed they returned a .ai and know 100% they said spaceship

In a previous case, our @Kyle Tully transferred an .ai to that registrar, but the transfer pricing (and renewal period) displayed was incorrect. After some persistence, a partial monetary refund was issued, and the domain was kept. So, goodwill may vary depending on the circumstances. Let me know if you can find that message on X.

It wasn't that...however...

GoDaddy's terms don't say anything about not being able to cancel/refund a .ai domain @Planet9

I'd push a little harder...

Edit: While I'm already here, I'll add that Spaceship says the same with regards to AI, but also leaves an out about their "discretion" . If the comment/post I read on X was even true, I do remember there was reference to it being done immediately and was due to a misspelling. If you told this story, or remember reading this as well please weigh in...

They have it written so further down that you'd never dream of reading that far especially as the beginning paragraph of their refund section doesn't state that. I called Godaddy twice just to verify and sure enough they twice said the same thing and showed me the obscure section. I just wish their refund rules would clearly state that from the beginning.
