I almost forgot about the .buzz extension as I have not really come across any sites on the net. But tonight Sedo reported that Casino.buzz sold for $20,501. The domain was registered in 2018 and due to expire in 6 weeks. Registrar: GODADDY Creation Date: June 4, 2018 Expires: June 4, 2020 (in 6 weeks) […]

i will forever know “.buzz” as the ngtld that went into sealed-bid auction.

Although final bid wasnt announced, it was $3.5M minimum to own this ngtld.

I thought it had potential, but went by wayside.

I've just hand regged:

Buzz-Buzz.Buzz

Will I be ahead of the swarm or will it come back to sting me.

Only $1.20 so no harm no honey

Impressive sale....

It took one of the strongest keywords out there to sell in this extension and 5 years since the last reported one and you go and register a hyphenated name in .buzz?

swarm or sting? I will go for sting......

Just creating a 'Buzz' around the extension and having fun...remember that...its what we used to do in the old days.

Pure genius I'd say...

"Show me the Honey"

"Show you the Honey"

I would say .best is a slightly better extension than .buzz though there are not many sales to report of. The top 3 .buzz domains are statistical outliers compared to the rest of the sub $300 sales reported on NameBio.

Casino.buzz - 20,501 - 4/24/20 - Sedo
Reputation.bizz - 2200 - 7-12-15 - Uniregistry
gas.buzz - 1100 - 4-20-15 - Namejet
---
trends.buzz - 286 - 2-12-15 - Namejet
ipo.buzz - 260 - 4-21-15 - Namejet
tradeshow.buzz - 229 - 2-18-15 - Namejet

Casinos (buzz) was registered yesterday by me because of the hype. $110 cost of registration at GD. According to GD casinos(buzz) was previously sold by $295.00
Any thoughts about this domain with the same keyword of the one sold yesterday but in plural?

A think it’s a sold move, but the singular makes more sense in regards to an online casino. Yours could be used for a directory, although I’m not sure how much one would pay for that particular use.

You beat me to it, @equity78, again! :xf.cool: When I saw this leading the NameBio list, when the new names were added last night, I said wow this is surprising after years without a significant sale in that TLD. I must post a NamePros thread in the morning :xf.wink:. Congrats on both fast and informative article.

I see from the Wayback Machine that casino.buzz was in use as site in 2019 in particular. That may have helped traction for the sale. I obviously don't know the buyer this time, but a similar use as a news, information and links site seems most likely to me. It is a perfect match across dot for that.

The corresponding .com (CasinoBuzz) was registered in 2003, does not seem obviously for sale, and for me, at least, does not resolve today.

Will this mean that a bit of new life will be breathed into aftermarket sales in TLD? Not necessarily, but possibility is there. Best wishes to those giving a few a try. I don't have any in the TLD, personally.

Thanks again for story.

Yes I have a screenshot of the site in the article. It's developed the way a lot of casino.keyword domains are developed. (Lacking originality).

I sold that one! Still have Birds.buzz, Promotions.buzz and Recreation.buzz...we'll see what happens!

One of the worst executions of an extension I have seen, they also tried to sell the extension for a couple million which did not go over well, just a rent an extension for 99 cents a year, and drop.

The keyword to the left sold the name more so than the extension.
