Hey all,

I paid $191.00 for Ferret.tv

It is not a premium so annual renewel is low.

What do you think? Was it worth the price I paid?

I know that Ferrets are not the most popular pets, but I did own one for a few months and I kinds liked him :)

Do singular animal names have potential?

I also own bird.tv, but that one is a premium.

Thoughts and appraisals appreciated.

Sorry ST,

191 dollars too much......let go of the ferrets and concentrate on your true gems of which you have many

Regging recently on this forum seems to border on the desperate........my guess is because of the frustration of waiting to see what Enom tools finally come out that will allow us to develop the regges we do have, some of us need the rush of doing something - hence the regging of the mediocre names.......

I am not just picking on ST, almost every reg I have seen now in the last six weeks or so are just a plain waste of money...if I am sounding arrogant, please just read brutaly honest...........infomercial.tv.......one of the most apt names one could think of for the .TV ext..... fetched a measley $2500 in the recent TRAFFIC AUCTION.........we have not hit .TV payday and will not hit it for quite some time......stack up all those renewal fees and very few of us will see a profit.the way we are regging............

I am spending my time now building up a portfolio of traffic names and typos that is starting to bring in a steady revenue stream and is a welcome distraction from the down time we are experiancing thanks to Demand Media.

Or take a look at what SKG is doing with some of his sites, take Cult Classics.TV........a masterpiece?? No....but something that will increase his webmaster skills and build up his PR - yes......without the need to spend any further money on new regges that really have no value whatsoever,,,,,,,,

Yes, there will always be a hidden gem, but regging 50 to find that 51st makes no sense, especially when most members here already have a decent stockpile of names begging to be developed or at least hosted as a mini site until you finlly decide on which one of your real value .TVs you are going to develop full on.

Take my advice, ignore my advice....bottom line is, I am now in the MAKING MONEY period of my domaining career, putting aside .TV for a while until the air clears......for those stuck on .TV and the regging of it no matter what and no matter for how long, will find out the hard way that everything has a point of no return......JMO

If you develop a site that you are passionate about whether it be ferrets, information technology, or education, then its not too much in my opinion. However, if purchased solely for speculation, you may run into some challenges reselling it for what you paid for it. Then again, the net makes everyone a buyer.

While I do not agree with MillersCrossing on Ferret.TV... his post is an excellent editorial... that serves as a .TV reg reality check.

Lets ferret things out... when it comes to evaluating domain names lets try not to be so literal. An early online tv show, called Ferret Talk developed a respectable following... and was profitable... though it had nothing to do with Ferrets. The show was on Real Player, and is no longer available, and it only ended when the host had a financial fall-out with the producer. I did promo for the show and am still getting request for it... some 6 years later.

So... I think Ferret.TV is well worth 200 bucks, w/ regular renewal fees.

not your best name, but it could have potential in the right hands, IMO, at some point --- in the pet shop type arena

bird.tv is good
