Greetings NPers....

Curious as to what your favorite search engines are these days.

In the 1990s I remember using Metacrawler and Dogpile as the #1, #2 and when Google launched it was the #3 choice.

What do you prefer to use besides Google? (not startpage since it's a clone)

Your input is much appreciated.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Used to use Altavista back in the day.

Right now, I have DDG as my homepage, on Chrome browser. Just to piss Google off.

Any more recs?

Google is not the same Google anymore.

There must be better alternatives.

If it's purely for privacy reasons then StartPage, uses Google results but without tracking/sending Google info.

Other than that it's only really DDG or Bing, neither are optimal but Google has completely eroded competition in many areas.

The CEO of Ahrefs announced they'd be attempting to build a competitor last year but no idea how far they've got.

Google is looking for worse and worse. At the top of the search are its services and advertisements. To find something, you need to use quotation marks, otherwise Google thinks that he knows better what I need. But I do not see him an alternative at this point in time.

I use search engines like Vudu, Stremio and JustWatch to look for the movies.

Bing is slightly okay. DuckDuckGo is good.

Yahoo uses Bing Feed so cannot be counted different from Bing.

Meta Search Engines are all cocktails of others.
