Expanding Menu's/Lists In Javascript/CSS/PHP

Ok I need to make an expanding menu so:

A. The cat
>>>>Jumped Over the House
>>>>With A red Goose On His Tail

So only A would be visable untill I hit the + and then the other two would be also. I have heard many ways to do this php/javascript/php and I just need to how in one way. Thanks.
