ET.net

One of the nicest 2 letter domains we've seen on the board in a long time. And definitely one of the coolest domains of ANY type we've seen in a while. I love this name!

Any domainer would be proud to own this name. Great stuff Matt.

:kickass:

I need to think about the price/value for a while.....

If you will endure me for a moment... let me give you a classic namepros appraisal.

What is ovt on "ET"? ....
ET.com would have been better....
Why does everyone want to jump on the 2 letter domain bandwagon?....
Is this a typo of "IT"?...
Not sure how you would develop it....
Worth more developed....
TM issues....
There are still plenty of these type of names out there....
What is an ET?.....
$0.00 - reg fee....
or my favorite..... (T H E N O A P P R A I S A L P O S T)

In all seriousness, this is obviously one of the great names... ET could stand for so many things in the computer / tech field as wel as the obvious non-tech meanings. You should do well.

With the right buyer - mid $$,$$$

I'm not sure how (personal) to take that, given the thread contents up to this point, but I will attempt to give a reply that covers every possible angle.

You realize of course, there are many-many different reasons for such a 'post'.

I like to think, that a comment like mine, from one experienced seller, to another experienced seller, has a bit more meaning than some hit-and-run cookie cutter appraisal from somebody just looking to increase their post count..

A positive, upbeat comment for another member, is never a bad thing. :)

$$,$$$ / $XX,XXX has been said over and over, in one form or another, by almost every single poster so far in the thread, including you. Kinda loses it' significance a bit.

If you want the real cold-hard truth, imho, appraisals are 90% worthless in 90% of cases. I place more merit on one trusted friend's opinion in private, than one-hundred public appraisals. I very rarely do them anymore. And I almost never ask for them.

I was just acknowledging a great name. And sincerely happy to see a NP'er with it.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. These types of names do not grow on trees. They take lots of time and effort to hunt down and after a while you get so caught up in the "hunt" that you lose the ability to value them independently or objectively. That's why your responses are really appreciated !

Of course, time will tell..... :)

Potential TM issues, depending on useage, but obviously a great domain. I'll agree that it's xx,xxx minimum.

.

I have come to realise this and totally agree :) Anyone can fire a figure off the top of their head but without giving some indication why it is pretty much pointless IMO

$0-reg fee™
JMHO
Good Luck!

..... silly ones like this may potentially do more damage than good IMO, why bother ?

Matt, you got ahold of a great one. I'd be asking $30k for it if I were you (and I think that is a reasonable asking price considering the domain's quality).

My previoue "dig" post was not aimed at anyone. Especially not at someone who does give quality input. I do not take personal shots in my posts, at least not on purpose.

You may call it a frustration pots. I am really glad this domainer is getting qualoty input from experienced sellers. Wish there was more to go around was my only point.

I disagree that many people posting the same figures causes the application to lose its significance. Maybe, if one is looking for significance... I know I am not looking for that when I request a solid, positive if not critical appraisal. I think the price range may mean more, or be more significant, if 30 people agree to it. Just my own thoughts.

I rarely take these appraisals to the bank... They are usually so low on good names it isnt funny. Sometimes the best names get the fewest posts... And then someone who seeks an appraisal for oeinonwolk.hdg gets 12 reply posts... go figure...

I am glad this domainer has this great name... Maybe these are harder to specifically appraise because the range is wide open depending on the end user.

I would rather have 3 people give some sort of thoughtful appraisal than 50 posts like I mentioned before.

This may have been to random to make any sense, but please understand that I was not aiming at anyone in particular with that post. Certainly not anyone as distinguished as someone with such a cool looking user name.... Sorry if offense was inferred.

I actually enjoy positive posts whether or not they have an actual price range. But they must be informative. A price range by veteran domainers is valuable. even if it is wide. At least it helps me.

Thanks, David. Certainly no hard feelings on my end. I take most responses in the appraisals forum with a grain of salt. However, quite often you will get well thought out responses from experienced domainers - and those I find are invaluable.

David (ownthisdomainnow),

Thank you for your honest follow up post.

I too am sorry if I came across as rude, in any way. :)

After a million appraisals... reading them, giving them, getting them... I guess I've become a bit jaded and numb. I'm sorry about that. Truth be told, I hardly even come into this section very often anymore, usually only when a particular name catches me eye. I apologize for being short in my appraisal and long in my rebuttal.
