The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Congratulation : P ,
i will try other names

Dont use any of the automated appraisal tools, they are a waste of time, you may as well pick a number out of a hat.

All automated appraisal tools are worthless and misguiding.

There is no misguiding the information is actually based on fact. The only dispute is the valuation itself.

Misguiding are the tools itself. No automated tools can correctly valuate any domain. Also I believe the best valuation can be done by the domain owner and never the buyer.

Automated appraisals have other benefits (comparable name sales, visits, etc) but don't rely on them too much...they should be a small part of your valuation process. Also add nameworth when checking the valuation bots.

there are misleading in many aspects

I can only warn you
to reg or buy domains based on 3rd party appraisals
either automated or manual

use your brain
and only your brain
-and google of course-

Here is the real value of each name if you want to use MessMeBot or Godaddy appraisal:

Let say the appraisal value is A and the real value is R
Multiply the value by 2 - R=A x 2
Divide the result by R=R / 2
Subtract 25 from the result R = R -25
Add 36 to the total - R = R +36
Multiple the result to 0 - R = R * 0
Add whatever the price the buyer will buy R = R + the actual price from the buyer

I used this formula and I have the exact price 100%

Good luck,

We can't totally rely on Automated appraisal tools but it's good for preliminary filtering when you have a huge domain lists.

We will have to diasagree on this. If you want to filter names, scroll through and filter them out manually, even if the list is large.

People need to learn to identify the value of names themselves. If you are entering names in automated tools (for appraisal purposes), then you shouldnt have registered it in the first place.

Agreed that they are misleading and inconsistent as some actual sales differ vastly from appraisals but I think they can be useful when 'screening' expired lists or names to hand register to determine which may have value BUT must be complimented by other valuation techniques.

Estibot appraised a domain 11K which even doesn't worth $100. No idea what criteria they use.

In most cases, bots valuations are on higher sides

Valuation of my one domain
Estibot $3.2k
Nameworth $54.5k

Both are bots LOL

Brain, Google, Social Media etc. are the best options to find the popularity of the domain you own and appraise it accordingly.
All the best!

So you do ignore the data then you won't see any benefit from them or find any use for seo tools.
What you do isn't wrong but the only data you consider is what someone else did sales history no point ignoring all data because don't agree on price.

Sorry to say but I didn't understand your message clearly.

By the way, I don't buy or valuate any domains based on seo factors because I don't invest in such type of domains

Also Estibot manipulate the data and adjusts their valuation very close to the sold domain price. I've witnessed this on several of my sales and others here at NamePros have reported the same.

absolutely true

when they are not aware of the sale
they keep on showing the BS price
even if I sold it for a completely different price
estibot of today:

So do you use any data to appraise yourself or just look at a millions google results and think you will float there.

"BIOS is firmware used to perform hardware initialization during the booting process, and to provide runtime services for operating systems and programs. The BIOS firmware comes pre-installed on a personal computer's system board, and it is the first software to run when powered on."

- from wickedpedia

meanwhile, ask yourself "what would/could I make out of this name" and what is it worth

they say OnFAV.Net is not worth anything, but I think I can make something very valuable out of it...

estibot says Translate.Band is worth $20,000.00 and I have listed it for sale @ $1000.00 -

No Offers.

Proof that automated appraisal tools are not trustworthy.
Below you can see one of my name in both tools.

GODADDY:

ESTIBOT tells you've got the jackpot, while GoDaddy is in the fair average price.

The exact value of a name is for a seller the one he accepts to sell, and for a buyer it is the one he accepts to pay for. Just good research and a good knowledge of the market can help you to valuate a name. It takes time to pick and choose good names.

Yet, in this case, as many other cases, automated intelligence got it right. I don't know about you, but I'd sure like the $50k rather than $2k-$5k that most domain experts would have priced it at.

Hi

I majority of cases, they get it wrong too
and for you to say, what amount most domain experts would have priced it at... is opinion, not fact.
you know, that always depends on "who" owns it, and "who" makes an offer.

still, who tf would pay $50K for it and park it?
that doesn't make much cents to me, which makes the sale look like a wash, for now.

imo...

Then add in the fact that, if Estibot shows a trademark exists on that name, the user cannot use that name on a public facing web site without risking a claim for damages to an extent way beyond the cost to them of the domain. So it is worthless.

What are you talking about? There are hundreds and thousands of trademarks involving the same word but they co exist legally in different declared categories. Please study up on trademarks. Its true you have to have more care in how you handle a trademarked name but almost every word is trademarked anymore in some fashion. You just have to know how to handle that sort of name but it by no means diminishes its value.
