debate Esitbot - Who uses it and what do people think of it?

Recently I was negotiating for a domain name - they were asking ~$3K, but I felt it wasn't worth that much, especially as it was a two-word plural, so unless I also bought the singular I'd be forever leaking visitors

e.g. BigHomes.com will leak to BigHome.com unless you have both

So whatever I paid for the plural, was only 50% of my costs.

Looking for some kind of independant valuation I found Esitbot - it gave a value of $65 :)

I wouldn't insult anybody with an offer that low, but has anybody found Esitbot useful or accurate?

Do not always go with the estibot value.
Sometimes a domain with zero estibot value will have high selling point.

estibot actually is a worldwide used tool to estimate the value of the domain. generally buyer and seller do refer the rough value on estibot but yeah its not that reliable

but estibot still helps ascertain a fair pitching price. more or less

estibot is usefull because using some stats for valuateing your domain.but ofc you cant trust estibot because your domain can have some meaning in it but estibot cant realy calculate that.I have seen a lot of domains that valued 65 dolar at estibot but actually sold for thousands of dollars.so..

Or vice versa :sneaky:
We have a few names estibot values at $1000 or more, I'd say are realistically worth low to mid $xxx.
Nonetheless, a very useful tool when negotiating with an end user :xf.wink:

Exactly.theres a lot of 3 letter .io domains free right now.estibot valuate almost all of them for like 600-5000 dollar. While a lot of them are just like 20-100 dollar right now, maybe less. They will go up if this .io domains go crazy ofc.

Mainly sellers use it for a base price estimation

I use it. I love it. It's an essential part of my process and the appraisals have no part in that. It provides a variety of useful data that can help one reduce a daily drop list from 70K down to the 2K that might be worth taking a closer look at.

I own many domains that Estibot appraises at $0. Ignore the appraisals.

That's what seasoned domainers would say, it's best used as a quick filter against large lists.

ignore the appraisals and email them asking to lower their membership price for you then maybe the tools will be worth it for you. They do have some convenient tools.. A good search on the web will find you the same tools for free just not in 1 spot..

This question has been asked here many, many times and the answer is mostly no.

Estibot can be useful when used in conjunction with other means of valuation.

However, when used by itself, Estibot is unreliable as a tool for accurate valuations.

as i have said in a few other estibot threads.. used as an appraiser it only causes new domainers to spend way too much for usually worthless domains..

It is useful as a buyer.

I don't find it very accurate. There are some domain names that are too subjective to be calculated like that, I think.
