.tv End of NP .tv marketplace forum?

Me, I'm just not very interested in wading thru a few tons of cctld crap along with the usual quarter ton of .tv crap in the distant hope of seeing a rare gem pass by.

The elimination of the dedicated .tv marketplace here virtually spells the doom for NP as a place where .tv'rs regularly congregate. Sorry to see it happen. Good news for the allthingz brothers I suppose.

You can probably post in the main section here that you have a .TV for sale - I would think. Otherwise, you're right, the .TV sales here will be deader than dead.

There was no need for a .tv specific marketplace, the main marketplace gets the eyeballs so it made sense to have everything there for maximum people seeing each sales thread.

...I disagree.

Having all the .tv related stuff in a centralized location before the forum was sold just made common sense (which is the least common of all sense, I suppose) for those interested in the extension. With this "shotgun" approach to parity it just, as domainacrobat so aptly puts it, to paraphrase, makes one "lost".

T'was nice while it lasted, though...

I will miss the marketplace, it was comfortable - and comfortable is always good.

I posted my first sales thread in NP today ( http://www.namepros.com/domains-for-sale-make-offer/760098-dirty-dozen-12-wonderful-tv-names.html ) and it felt weird. I even felt obliged to pay for to to be a sticky because it felt 'swamped'.

The TV section, at its height, was more like a trading floor for a very specific product (.TV). Now, among a mess of non-Tv stuff it will just become irrelevant. It feels like merging your favourite boutique with Wal-Mart.

I did try and put my sales thread at Allthings but the fact it is impossible to edit a thread theremeans it is not a genuinely good way to sell names. I feel, though, that if they overcome that problem then Fin is right - the 'Allthings Brothers' (are they really?) will take the space for buying and selling of .TV names.

I should add that I agree wholeheartedly with getting rid of the valuations section. It was beyond pointless.

I like change, but only when it is advantageous. And the loss of the only real specific TV marketplace on the globe doesn't feel good.

All my threads are getting moved and edited, oh well!

Hopefully we will come to like the different atmosphere

You can solve that by purchasing a membership plan at Allthings.TV. I cannot tell you how much that angers me to have to do so, but I did in the past and it looks like I will have to again since I forgot...GD it!

Anyway, the TV and cctld marketplaces were/are nearly dead anyway. I don't think it hurts to commingle.


EDIT (see time-stamp)- Apparently AllThings made changes since I bumped a thread yesterday that allow editing of posts for up to 7 days regardless of membership plan.

FWIW I always liked the fact there was a .TV specific marketplace forum, and in fact wished there also was a .com specific marketplace forum.
