I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I find afternic a waste of time, don't ask me for a price. I have minimum at 1k with make offer.

Please let us know the price we may have a client but he is not ready to make an offer.

Well then PLEASE leave me alone, to start the process you MUST make a 1k offer, other than that YOU ARE WASTING MY TIME.

I'm about to remove everything from afternic.

DomainDrops.ca
DomainService.ca
DomainBrand.ca

I think these are some decent names for building a real business around and yet can't move them.

should i drop or hold?

The names are quite niche specific, so finding a buyer might be hard. I'd probably drop them... but go with your gut feeling :) If you can find some better hand regs, drop these and try something new :)

Curious what the pros find is the best after market for their .ca domains?

Flaws and fees aside where does everyone find the majority of their .ca sales coming from?

I’m in no way a pro! But seems like unless you have some ultra premium domains the majority of sales on a consistent basis would be boots on the ground, doing out bound marketing.
Putting in the time to reach out to potential buyers.

Anyone going to the Hexonet domain night / cruise in Vancouver in Aug?

@NamesCost

I like your website, simplicity at it's best and easy on the eyes.
Your domain logos are simple yet effective (y)(y)

Great, Great, job

Not sure about the chatroom and the purpose of it because it takes away from the whole simplicity of the site.

I am a minimalist and I love how your icons appear only on scroll.

P73HDtz

Just had the chance to go through the last couple weeks of drops.

Picked up this beautiful brandable - I can't believe it slipped through the cracks. Fits in wonderfully with @dtagr's post above. There's undoubtedly a prevalent trend towards truncated spellings in the branding world of today.

Here it is:

mapl.ca

Clean, simple, unique. Canadian.

I initially thought the same, too!
Happy I toyed around with it in my head a little longer :xf.smile:.

IMO it's the strongest brandable for the world maple, outside of the world maple itself.

Yep, same here. Was looking at it, thinking "Map...L". The "maple" take on it doesn't work, imo..seems kind of awkward in either circumstance.

Just realize, the longer you toy with something in your head, the more you can convince yourself "it works" and leads to just another domain you'll end up dropping in a year..

HeHe
My sales figures would argue with that, I have sold many maples and the one you are calling the best is a drop.

Yes it's nice but MAPL is a brandable at best with limited business application. Higher sales are always best achieved to businesses and the owner of that domain had zero interest until it dropped. That gives you an idea what you will be up against unless you figure out an end user and a market for it.

That said, in the right hands it has potential value but sitting on a landing page one would grow old with it.

Had I seen it at auction I would have gone as high as $100 but @Joshua Harding got it on a drop so he got a good deal on it. He can afford to hold that for a few years to feel it out.

If nothing else, my aim was to provoke discussion from making such an assertion.

As always, your opinions are deeply considered, and highly valued.

Of course - no domain is ever viewed as anything more than means to an end. Emotions and investments mix like whisky and ex-girlfriends.

The trend I've been seeing is repeating letters, (particularly ii's) making the ultimate brandable "Maaple".

Any thoughts on my previous post about Symbl.ca? I'd like to brainstorm on how we can prevent big banks and vc funded startups from branding themselves with $10 hand-regs.
