Remember how the random Thistledown.ca sold for 18K late last year? It finally has a site up which kinda explains the sales price.

Last i seen was $4650, and the auction was over pretty much after that. So i would assume under 5k i'm pretty sure.

It's really weird, it almost seems like someone at CIRA has a softspot for myid.ca. They can do no wrong on CIRA's watch. Even lose domains of customers and then blame the customer. They even took 1 domain they lost of mine from a users auction and then snuck it back in my account after losing it. The only reason i found out was it had a transfer lock. In the case to go after them legally, it's most likely not worth it for the est 5-10k price tag the new owner wants. I will however say this, fayez @ myid ignored this even happened and acted like he didn't know when cira was forcing the issue. I had to get cira to force them to send me the transfer codes for what domains had left.

just wondering, did anyone else on here lose domains that were invoiced for by myid.ca? CIRA told me i was not the only one with issues.

Global brand pulls out of Canada?:) ouch. Strange they would not keep the domain just in case and to avoid issues they been trying to dodge with counterfeit products. Makes no sense unless it was an error.
There are probably active trademarks associated with this brand so the future use might not be as flexible and just to buy it for seo might be something. Not sure if owning this domain would be a positive experience:)

Maybe someone knows more about this?

I saw that domain on the TBR and immediately heard... "Please fasten your seatbelts and close your windows. You're about to enter Risk City."

I do not see any positive outcome to "winning" it.

I forgot as well Rob...usually get an email alert if I am outbid but didn’t get any this week for some reason.
I got the email in the AM reminding me and I put proxy bidsbut as I said I didn’t get the usual “You’ve been outbid” follow ups oddly enough.

Fortunately they weren’t big names I was super hyped about but I am going to let them know what happened.

    141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944592.ca

Anybody else nerdy enough to recognize the meaning of that domain right off like I did?

My 17 year old Daughter can actually recite 100 digits of that by memory. Starting with the 3 of course. :) I can manage 5 digits. :)

    Impressive! (y)

I presume the reason that the previous owner left off the 3 was they anticipated using the 3 as a third level so the domain was 3.159......ca.

BTW I had to check using Dofo how many TLDs this expression 141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944592 is registered in - 29!

Have a good day my Canadian friends!

Awesome - yeah, I am only good for the first dozen or so, I'm not even sure why I bothered to remember that much of it.

How many ways can you misspell ancestry.ca?

    ancastry.ca
    ancesary.ca
    ancestoy.ca
    ancestru.ca
    ancesyry.ca
    ancrstry.ca
    anvestry.ca
    encestry.ca
    ancestrty.ca

Must have been a real money-maker.

Anyone else think this is another strange TBR outcome, except for MYID taking the very top spot? Are the underdogs stepping up or is something else going on?

Sibername also has me in auctions for domains for domains they didn't get (again)... AND the domains i won were sent to auction anyway.... even though I'm the only/top bidder for those domains. So weird.

EDIT: nevermind, looks like they fixed things while i was writing this message.
