I didn't quite know what to do with that one.

I put it on the main list, but with the premiums this week I couldn't really justify a position on the Top Picks. After all, what can you really do with it in Canada?

Up until this point my policy has been to respond to every offer in a polite and timely manner, but I have been literally swamped with super lowball offers this summer. The latest is a $20 offer for vipr.ca
The domain name won't set the world on fire but it's a solid $xxxx. I'm going to have to set up a new system, similar to @MapleDots or pay for Efty.

My only takeaway is that at least others are interested in my names, regardless of how little they offer.

Is there an echo in here?

Seriously, what do these hobos do before making an offer - check the couch for spare change and just round up to the nearest dollar?

Thinking maybe they "pass the hat" at their local Timmies (and make offer through free WIFI there)

    Impressive home page...

HeHe... I figure being a guru you know your way around. :xf.smile:

My home page is hand made and modeled a bit after efty.
I do everything in house, web, payments, marketplace, etc.
Nobody makes commision from me except my wife, she takes 80% of everything :xf.laugh:

There are some interesting elements on that contact page. I might integrate some.
I left 75% of my domains with a "make offer" lander (with no BIN) and I received a lot of junk offers from "disposable" emails. A contact page like that one might have saved me some time.

I will not open dialogue on a domain without the form filled in. Often I will get an email or a phone call and I always tell them you start by filling out the form.

With a 1k opening bid it removes a lot of the riff raff especially because I am so direct with the information I ask for.

A lot of you will say it is too direct but for me it stops a lot of wasted inquiries that go nowhere. Anyone really interested in a domain fills out the form. Best move I ever made.

Basically reminds me of pre qualifying for a loan at a bank..and if it works, don't fix it.

So I ended up moving 20 names that I have received lowball offers on to Dan.com
Set them up with $1000 minimums. Hopefully that will solve that problem. If it works I will move a bunch more over.

Okay, over the last few days, virtually all my previous lowball bid domain listings have been rebid at the same amount (other than the BINs I set and the ones on Sedo are supposedly "new" buyers" - just joined in September(!), so we all know who they are) and I have been holding off responding as long as I possibly can.

A member here has flirty.ca for sale and asked me if I wanted it as well.

Does not fit in to my portfolio but if someone else is interested I can get you the contact info.
I did not discuss price but it should be affordable.

Do you know what I really hate?

When an LB (lowballer) returns to the scene of the crime, and makes second offer (at the same price) on a domain marketplace, then (thinking he found some more money in the couch) you counter and just because the LB is a nitwit, he does not respond and you have to wait for the X days bid period to elapse.

My crystal ball is a bit hazy, but I'm seeing someone dropping $70 on a 5-year renewal, adding a BIN price far in excess of the original counter, then just forgetting that the domain even exists.

My domains are all listed at Godaddy

I don't respond to anything below 1k, same goes for my marketplace
If a 1k minimum offer is outside of your budget on a domain then you're wasting my time.

Your unfortunate mistake was responding to the lowball offer in the first place.

I know, but every once in a while, those low initial offers turn into deeper pockets.

I don't mind lowballers per se, other than in large numbers, but being a dick and forcing me to wait X days for the bid counter to expire is pretty freaking lame.

So unless this guy finds a new couch, it's #OffTheMarket

That what most of the low ball guys do when you respond, that is why I just ignore them.
