I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

-_- Luck wasnt on our side

Luck is spelled M-Y-I-D and sometimes S-I-B-E-R-N-A-M-E.

You go anywhere else and you're just fooling yourself.

These 2 companies absolutely own the Top 10 every single week and the only way anyone else sneaks in is if they're trying to get a weird domain that no one else wants.

These guys are awesome and you can buy account-wide lifetime privacy for like $6 or something:

https://www.namespro.ca

BTW, the CIRA will privacy protect .CA automatically unless you're a company.

Like DR said ^^^^^^^ it is a 1 time only charge no matter how many domains you have in your account (y) and they are just all round a very good .ca registrar

Does trademark applied by non canadian owner can be privacy protected ? And incase if im reselling the domain , do i need to change the legal type with buyers info and then resell them ?

I am unclear what you mean? All .ca owners need a Canadian presence. That presence may be through holding a Canadian TM but only for domain names related to that TM. I presume in that case, since a business identity, there would not be privacy. Privacy in .ca is only offered for individual owners to protect the privacy of individuals. It is felt that names held by companies should be in the public profile. This does get a little muddy for domain investors. If they hold a few as individuals they are private. If they are a registered company they are public. When a single person operating as a sole-proprietorship well not sure. I think unless you do something privacy is applied.

But I might misunderstand your question.

yes got it , it was registered under holding an Canadian TM , so it might be public . So i cannot get privacy protection for this anywhere ? as it is not auto applied ? And what about when i transfer the domain to a buyer ? what exactly should i do ?

Others on this thread will be able to respond better as I have actually never sold a .ca domain name. My understanding is the whois privacy is automatically applied according to whether the registrant name is a company or individual.

I did contact CIRA regarding this and they replied this "
Thank you for taking the time to write to us.
The privacy setting for your .CA domain name is managed through your Registrar. This service is only available to Registrants who are individuals and not to Registrants who are corporations or other “non-individual” Registrants
."

So the privacy protection is not default if its not an individual .

I understand that. What I meant by
automatically applied according to whether the registrant name is a company or individual
is that they automatically set it to private if the registrant is an individual and public otherwise. Just like they told you.

You need to change the Registrant Type from Individual to Corporation.

You need to change the Registrant Type from Individual to Corporation.
Why ? the registration is already on Canadian presence based on Trademark owned by non canadian . But thats just a privacy concern not a big deal if its being displayed , Now i have lots of question on ownership changes . And how do i go through it . As there are people selling .ca domains do they change the ownership to buyers info before selling it ?

Because you asked "Not sure how it works".

Please read the replies in the context of the comments quoted.

There are TWO Registrant types, 1) Individual and 2) Corporation, and those entirely determine whether you will get default privacy protection or not. You can edit the address or contact info all day and night, and it will not change that fact.

Changing the Registrant Type involves creating a new Registrant and picking a type for it, then transferring it to the domain (must wait 60 days).

Just saved a "sh!t load of money" transferring most of my domains to them..big difference between paying renewals in US funds as compared to Canadian!

GD took the longest to transfer..

By the way, according to what I been reading, our currency is forecasted to drop...making the American dollar more pricey! Of course, on the other hand, love getting paid in US!

Anyone, get sales using their "domain for sale page"?
