This thread is to share domains you've Won at Auction or Bought at Closeout

Closeout = After auction but before completely dropping from registrar and before going into redemption.

I *HIGHLY* suggest to post only after the domain is transferred *INTO* your account!

Go here if it's a domain you bought that was available at anytime for "hand registration": Your Reg of the Day
Go here if it's a domain you snapped / "drop-catched" after "Pending Delete": Your Snap of the Day

Feel free to disguise the domain like Slash // dot // com or any o|t|h|e|r w a y you want.
IMPORTANT: *If* someone does disguise their name, please respect them by quoting them directly, or copy/paste them directly.

Things to optionally include (or just simply post the domain name):

  1. What you paid for the domain(s), or the price range, or no price info at all.
  2. Any information, reasons or hard data (traffic, CPC, etc) that lead you to buy the domain(s).
  3. Where (or who) you acquired the domain from.
  4. How many other bidders there were.
  5. Whether the domain was "expired" or not.
  6. Whether the domain was at "closeout" or not.
  7. The history of the domain.
  8. What you see the domain being used for.
  9. Who a potential buyer could be.
  10. Anything else you want to share .. these are just possible ideas not "rules" ;)

Really like this one as an online learning brand. Not only do the words flow perfectly, but both words are very on topic!

MonthlyGadget // dot // com
With subscription based services growing exponentially in recent years, this one is really a no brainer. A subscription service that sends you the latest tech gadget each month. Big potential for this one! :)

I think I dropped this one long ago :) Maybe it's too generic.
I could understand that for most .. but I actually DJ'ed and managed clubs many many years ago .. I had what was the biggest DJ / Club Music community in the world around the turn of the Millennium .. I've still stepped in to help out a couple of friends in the industry over the years .. and I'm in Montreal .. combine all that and it was almost a personal buy for me! ;)

Another really nice pronounceable 5L with strong phonetic attributes! :)

Oh @Ategy.com - you going down my path? Quite a lot of short brandables lately ;)

Lately I got:

M / I / G / O / L / A // dot // com

N / E / O / T / E / C / N / I / A // dot // com - yes - I like "neo" names .. and they sell like crazy - just turned down $2K for one ;)

S
/ A / V / A / G / E / Z / O / N / E // dot // com - Like this one a lot - sounds really good

P
/ R / O / F / Y / S / I / O - for fysio

R
/ I / C / E / C / U / L / T / U / R / E // dot // com - mmmm... Oriental restaurant?

...and more but I'm too lazy

Micro Vallet dot com - I think it's good brandable

I really like this for it's open ended and generic nature for crypto / blockchain. I can't say I'm a huge fan of domains with specific coin names because the "trendy" nature of most coins will mean most will likely fade in time ... while I think the actual "blockchain" technology will stick it out. So grabbing a "Chain" name with alliteration and context (see what I did there? lol) is a good grab in my mind! :)

FieryPepper // dot // com
Great name for pretty much anything food related. But it could also definitely work as a fun generic brandable (with a simple but memorable logo)! :)

Actually .. I've always kept a balance of short brandables in my portfolio .. mostly pronounceable 5L .. but sometimes others if I really REALLY like them! :)

TheSafety // dot // Net
I'm not too into domain hacks .. but I do love the term "Safety Net" and there's a ton of $$$ in online security .. plus this one could even work for offline security as well.

PowerPlayMedia // dot // com
Another great media name .. can't really pass on those!

FederalBusinessCenter // dot // com
Total no-brainer again here. It may be 3 words .. but it's a colossally powerful brand!

That's a great name (ice hockey)! I intended to bid on it, but it got too expensive.

Have you sold any of all those media domain names you have hoarded?

CasiCoin // dot // com
The absolute perfect synergistic name for a gambling/casino crypto-currency! Two of the hottest markets right now that actually DO come together for big $$$$$! :)

Cloudster // dot // net
I don't like .net as a generic .. but I think it's still far and away the best name for tech. Then you have a great cloud related brandable like Cloudster and it's a great combination I'm very happy with given that cloud services are exploding and will only get hotter for years to come! :)

@DrJacoby .. sent you a DM ;)

Over the last couple of days I've grabbed quite a few really great domains! Should be able to report them here in the next week or so! In the meantime here are some I grabbed a little over a week ago! :)

Perfect name for a book or block pertaining to making money with Apps!

VelvetGorilla // dot // com
Just a really fun cool generic brand. I just saw a fun fuzzy gorilla as a logo and had to grab it! :)

Josh .. the MASSIVE advantage I have of every night MANUALLY going through so many expiring domains going to auction .. is that I get to catch fantastic domains like these all the time. "Call-to-action", "Slogan", "Marketing" and "Saying" domains for the most part simply can't be found through automated searches.

I've always loved these kinds of domains. I've got plenty in my portfolio! :)

Party/Newyork
I think it's pretty safe to say there's always a party in NYC!

ImageOverhaul // dot // com
Reputation management is an exploding industry at the moment. More than any other industry these agencies absolutely must have fantastic names to prove themselves worthy. ImageOverhaul is one of those perfect names that is both a keyword domain .. while at the same time having good word flow and verbally elegant enough to also be a brandable!

RebelRaven // dot // com
Just a simple, memorable alliteration brand. Could be used by just about any type of company wanting a young image (I was thinking fashion .. but certainly not limited to that).

I wonder if he knows that lol

lol .. Too big .. between 1500-2000 ... my pre new years resolution last fall was to get my portfolio down to under 1000 domains .. but I failed that miserably! lol ... I've definitely slowed down on acquisitions .. but with my every changing and more effective methods of going through the nightly lists, I'm going through more and more names and finding more and more gems. Last night as I was doing my closeout sweep (of names on my own personal private list) I had about 5 names that I simply forced myself to throw back into the sea of closeouts! Maybe I'll grab a couple if they hit $5 .. but it's really ridiculous.

Basically look at my list from yesterday .. the names in question I forced myself not to take are (in my opinion) better than all the other ones (with no bids) listed! Maybe I should start buying them and start a wholesale list!

ADDED: Just an FYI ... by later last year I was still holding back about a quarter of names that were on my own personal list from the lists I share. These days that number is down to about 3-4%. I rarely hold back names with bids that I'm confident will go for higher amounts .. so most of the domains in question are no bids .. some of those do get snipped with last minute bids or with closeout bots .. but a good portion I could still grab at $11 if I wanted to ... then less than half of those still stay under the radar and make it to $5.

Isn't it hard to go through the list and not register a single domain !!!! lol

MinerMadness // dot // com
Crypto mining has become so big that it's absolute madness! (See what I did there? lol).
Generic crypto that actually works plus alliteration = $$$ :)

TheGooseIsLoose // dot // com
Another saying domain. This one is a little less commercial, but still fun. It basically refers to someone partying extra hard!

Marleen // dot // net
I really like clean and simple first names. Particularly female names, as there are a ton of them used as brands.
