Very Good Registrar but no domain sales support.

I've been with DD since they took over from BuyDomains.com a couple of years ago. I originally went to buy domains after reading a Michael Mann article that impressed me sufficiently to move my domains from Network Solutions. DD do offer competitive pricing and value added features including a free 25 k webpage with each domain that as no banner and is suitable for basic websites that can gain a PR. Since buydomains split off from domain discover there is no domain sales link or advice on DD so I don;t quite know what market they think they are trying to capture, but its not for domain speculators who like to flip names fo profit. I do have to use moniker and the like when I want to sell a domain which is a hassle and also stupid on DD's part because they are basically sending me elsewhere by not offering basic domain sales support. In summary even though DD have over 1/2 million domains onboard I think they need an injection of energy which is sadly lacking since Micheal Mann departed.

Reliable, fast registration, and no behind-the-back stuff

This is not a budget registrar, though in the past they were cheaper than Network Solutions (one of the reasons I went to them). This review is from the point of view of a small domain 'collector', not a 'domainer'; I do not know what kind of support they have for sales and marketing. Good basic network services for registered domains (DNS, email forwarding, etc) but recent changes to their 'control panel' for those functions have made it somewhat confusing and harder to use. The two customer service issues I had were handled quickly and professionally, if a bit tersely.

I have researched many domains through them, and not once had one purchased 'out from under me', even if I dallied for a day or three. Never had a domain purchase acknowledged then 'sorry! its already sold to someone else' as happens with certain other registrars.

You may pay more but you get quality service with no underhanded tactics.

Domain Discover give 24/7 support by chat, phone and email. Not every registrar have this. :)
Their support is excellent and very helpful. Prices reasonable.
