Domain sale landing pages with Empage.me

Hello NamePros fellows,

This will be official thread for Empage.me, sale landing page builder for domain names. I started using it on my own, for my portfolio, then decided to re-brand it and make it open and free for everyone.

Main idea was to keep it register-free, mobile responsive, customizable. And most important - making possible editing entire portfolios in bulk, in a couple of clicks, yet keeping every landing page personalized, with domain name on it.

Domain name(s) should be mask forwarded to Empage.me, using special URL, with custom parameters in it. You may forward one single or all your domain names at once, using same URL. That's all, the rest is on us.

At this stage, service offers:

- Automatic domain name detection
- Responsive and search engine friendly landing page, with templates to choose from. (Domain name included in title, description, body text.)
- Contact form leading to your email address. As option, your email address may be displayed on landing page instead of contact form.
- Tracking visitors traffic via Google Analytics.
- Live chat between your visitors and you.

just quick note that yoru whole page and design goes out of whack soon as domain name goes beyond X letters. it wuold be nice if you fixed it and adjusted it so the name isnt' randomly split across 2 lines. it does not make it look good or usable imo.

We've adjusted the design to handle longer names in a better way now. If name does not fit, it will shrink. Otherwise, layout will change. So, splitting name will remain as a last resort, for extra long names (over 35 chars) displayed on smaller devices.

thanks for taking care of the length. looks better now!!
just a quick bug report.. I get a 404 page not found error on most redirect attempts. i may work on try one then 10 next time no working.
or going to a name, then click refresh brings it up.. looks random as to when it happens.

for any domains. so not realted to name really. cheers.

What concerns refreshing - main plan is to land the visitor that types in the name, or follows the link with domain in it. Visitors will unlikely use the landing URL http://empage.me/domainname It rather happens for accidental refresh while being on landing page. However, it makes sense to clean this up.

PM me the list of names that do not work, registrar and URL you're using. Thanks.

it seems random, not name dependant. and happens on first loads too not just refreshes.

I am using above.com redirect. so none of it goes thruogh registrars.

if you have chance to duplicate problem on your end then please do.
if not then forget it and it's probably just problem on my end so no big deal.

It works only when redirected straight from registrar's account, and masked only. It's not meant to work with third party forwarders, unfortunately.

Thinking now on Custom name capitalization. What do you think is better - make user indicate Camel Casing for each domain name individually, or make the system use a dictionary database and decide itself which domain's part to capitalize?

After summing it up, we decided to go with individual CamelCasing, for each domain. This makes the setup process longer, but fully customizable instead. Automatic capitalization works just for generic domains and fails for brandables, for example.
