Domain hack selling for High X,xxx.xx on Afternic.com

To all those who believed in domain hacks.
I own a domain hack that received a very nice offer on Afternic.com. I received a large offer some time ago for this domain hack. I turned the offer down. This recent offer was 3 times higher than the first. Domain hacks do sell. Try to keep them simple, useful, and as close to a keyword as possible. I sold Musli.ms awhile ago. It made me see the light about domain hacks. Now with this recent offer, I will think a little longer before letting my others go for cheap. I held out for a nice offer and it came. If you believe the domain is worth more, domain sell it for lease. Unless you need the money, then do what you have to do. Most combination for domain hacks are taken. This tells me that someone or most of us see them as potential money makers. They are marketable. This sale will be one of the highest domain hacks sales todate. I know Blo.gs sold for like 5million, but that was with a website.
Anyway, if you own a good domain hack, hang onto it for developement or a nice sale.

That's good to hear. I think domain hacks can be quite a deal on the secondary market in fact. Doma.in actually didn't cost nearly as much as I would have thought, and I personally believe I could sell it for 4+ times what I paid for it. Still, it's a keeper.

With internet on mobile phones domains have to be short. Domain hacks can be perfect for that as well as catchy. I have only two hacks, jo.hn and dub.ai, but consider them as one of the best names in my portfolio.

The domain is Foru.ms
It is still in an auction for 5 more days. I got an offer for 2k and turned it down last year. I was asking 10k. I got the 7k offer and decided to put it into the auction. I don't know of a higher domain hack sale besides Blo.gs, but that was with a website included. I've seen some great domain hacks on namepros. It will take time and developement for these domains to really shine. Hopefully this will help build the market in domain hacks. Good luck everyone.

This is really good news. I'm a big fan of domain hack. I get offers in some of my domain hacks but I rejected all of them. Most offers are around $xxx range and I am not about to let go a very rare domain for that amount even though most offers are 5X more that I paid for. My domain hacks are very short and could have many use.

Thanks...Yes I really like these domain hacks. I tried to make it short as possible. Half of my domain hacks are 2 letters (i.e., Gu.am) I name my 2 letter hack ..dot in the middle.

I have some longer hacks too but I tried to avoid longer ones but I think Aussi.es and Decod.es are acceptable for my taste even though they are a bit long.

The shorter the better and good keywords are the trick with domain hacks. I was suprised when I went looking for a domain hack. All the good ones seem to be gone. If you have a good one, hang on to it until you think the time is right.
