Does .ws have any value at all --- Would it be worth buying a one word

Only premium 1 worders are worth anything. I can't remember exactly what but a .ws sold on Sedo a week or two ago for $800 I believe. For instance - USA.cc is on Sedo now - sold for $1,000 and .cc is worse than .ws (though it's a close race.

I also prefer .cc to .ws. But you won't be able to sell for a whole lot in either extension unless its a great keyword.

It has over 14,000 overture results for the single word alone plus 100's and 1000's of more results when you add other words to it.
It has over 12 million google results

If you are looking for an investment in 'alternate' TLDs go for .us
.cc, .ws are exotic and hard to sell.
.us has a bright future IMO.

The stats look good but high ovt is no guarantee of traffic and with .ws you won't get a lot of type-in.
If you want to develop why not but again I think it is realistic not to expect a sale. Depends on your perspective.

well i prefer ws over cc ..however the website.ws being the main registrar and also promote it into mlm scheme doesnt sound nice to me.. i think .ws stands for website

I think of Carbon Copy or CC rider or Credit Card when I think of CC.

I think you'll do well to reg a .ws

You could develope it and catch some of that traffic.

I insist, cc domain names are often associated to the free service provided by uni.cc

As admin of a free web hosting service I was, 95 out of 100 guys had that feeling every time someone posted a hosting request.

As the rules clearly stated that only TLD or cTLD were hosted, those guys always posted a warning to the candidate regarding the "free" of the CC extension.

In the early WS days I was afraid of this extension but after have seen the success of active.ws (free URL forwarding service) I got my own with good performance and $7.99 at Dynadot
