Do you think this would be a good contest and get a lot of users?

I am currently fixing up a few bugs and finalizing a few things on the site

After this is done I will be holding 2 contests and have 3 prizes.

The first prize is my used Sony PSP.
All users with 50 posts or more are eligible.

2nd prize is for the user with the best posts. Users would vote on this

3rd prize is for the person that refers the most users.

Whats everyone opinion on this? Do you think it would work? My goal would be maybe 500 or so new users making 50 posts? Is that asking for way to much?

Depends on the subject matter and promotion you do to get people to join, is it a drawing for everyone that has 50 posts? You just have to make sure they are quality and not spam, if you want more users do a referral contest.
