.tv Did anyone really f@ck-up during Gold and Land Phases?

Just been having a little look at what I actually acquired during the 'gold' and 'landrush' phases of operation 'Seismic Shift' and of the many I bought there were some howlers where I had obviously cut and pasted too much or simply not properly thought-through or realised what I was buying.

First, I bought the surname Khan for an Asian friend - whose name isn't Khan it is something else!

Then, in what I can only describe as a moment of madness, I bought Cocaine. I am possibly the most anti-drug person on the planet so that was some bizarre Freudian moment.

To top it off I bought Fist, Horn, Oral, Suck and Come with only a half realisation of their 'darker' meanings!!!

I think I must have been assuming a fight channel (fist), an alertness news channel 'bugle' (horn), exams (oral), no excuse for what I was thinking (suck), and finally a 'come onboard' channel about internet TV (come). I didn't buy them in one block, but they were among other blocks of names made during various trawls.

Thankfully, I also got one or two 'nice' names in the pile that more than made up for my moment of sleeplessness and madness.


Did anyone else get 'frenzified' to the point they now are a little taken back by what they actually purchased?

I can't say I regret any of my pickups but I did drop two of my regfee (premiums) because the additional $x,xxx didn't measure up to the real value of the names.

As usual, I got a name by typing in the wrong spelling. I knew I shouldn't of smoked too much of that crazy stuff in College, it has come back to haunt me

I suppose what surprised me was, given the general lack of interest in the extension among most domainers, how quickly names I was interested in disappeared once the floodgates were opened. I guess many disappeared before that. I had two I was interested in (gymnastics & cuban) which I managed to get in my cart, hesitated to look at them a little more closely, choose cuban because I already have gymnast but cuban was taken while I was pondering my selection. I later went back to check on gymnastics (actually a better name than gymnast) but it was taken as well.

Well, I've had several offers already for one or all of these names (the rude ones) so there is an upside to my dizziness.

I think the flipside is that there were also some real gems that I had completely forgotten I'd regged, like SkiResort.tv - that would make a great televisual info site.
