Thanks for giving us this option and for the fast implementation.
Laszlo, can you in any way or shape say based on your site stats (sales/visits etc) that putting a url redirect to your sale lander through registrar or say Bodis, vs doing the DNS nameserver redirect, makes any difference at all to end result.. in terms of buyer's experience on the lander, and most importantly, sale/offer ratios? what can you think of that is different on both cases... dns vs url... and how do you know or believe this changes the buyer experience? thanks!!!
For me I am not interested in any leasing or installment plans, so I disabled installments completely on all my domains.
I wish that DAN focus more on growth and Traffic, currently only source of traffic is direct type in traffic there is no showcase on front page, no curated lists, no category lists..etc. Also there is almost ZERO marketing done by DAN!
Most important thing that DAN should focus on is brand awareness by doing aggressive advertising & marketing, that is important because most end users don't know what DAN is! Relying on type in traffic for bringing sales makes DAN no better than an escrow service with a parking option IMO.
i fully agree. as i said before, a good test for this is that i get virtually ZERO offers/sales directly from DAN market and my listings present there. if i run a test and do a redirect for typin trafic to dan sale lander.. then i get an offer here and there.. but even this is very rare for me. which does maybe say something about the lander itself.
of course I could just shoot myself in the leg and say all my domains are worthless crap... but I've not started to domain last nite... and most importantly, even without redirect to godaddy sale lander (which is total nonsense lander btw), I still get a fair share of offers and sales just strictly from people finding my domains on godaddy auctions. as well as a fair share of sales and offers just through bodis page, where I am redirecting trafic most of the time.
now these facts speak volume to me... and perhaps as said above, Dan should invest more time and effort into perhaps bringing their market and their market listings to a similar level of trafic and popularity on the web and domaining market, as is the case with godaddy. it won't be easy, but if they won't put effort and or money into it (instead of other things like landers) then it will never happen. i think its a process they should start NOW.
You mean like 81 per month? Wow ,
not so much I know... but get 10 like these... or 20...and you get to live the life of a digital nomad prince... well...at least in pakistan... or india... or ukraine... or few more places....
so its not about the 80$... but 80x10 or x20. imo
It will not be even 81 because they will cut their share, also the fees, so who knows what you would endup with every month. 800 monthly is reasonable I would say, but not 81.
the problem is not the amount
but the high likelihood of them not paying more than 3 month
I guess as a seller you keep the money and the domain, so not bad
1) I dont understand how these boxes works, when you click on them nothing is happening.
2) without redirect, the chat is not working, so why displaying these boxes when the redirect is OFF
yes true... -9%
i get solid success and completion ratio when I add a bodis lead to dan for completion and checkout... and their 5% fee is solid too ... so despite many unpaid regular sales in past there... I do have some faith that their buyer checkout process/experience is not as bad as many others claim it to be.. though i never followed it or bought there...
that being said, exposure (or lack of it) of their dan marketplace listings is a mojor issue which imo is not being rally worked on too much... as well as now imo an over complicating of the sale landers while time and money could be invested in marketplace exposure... i think all these things are kind of making dan go in the wrong direction. but this is just my view on it.
when you receive a bodis lead, you fill the form on dan manually directly or you negotiate with the buyer before ?
as far as I know, once you add lead, the sale window that opens after is no longer between you and buyer... but you and dan system.. so thats too late for negotiation then.
i always set price by email with the bodis buyer, then when we have price, I add the lead.
you have 2 options, negociation or already negociated
if you mean to negotiate on dan in that sale window aftr you add lead, then i don't think thats an option
I have this question. How will you handle all those new tld-s or cctld-s installment sales?
How will you handle it all? You have to take control of those domains right?
handling.com, .net, .org I do not see a big problem. But all those others?
as this may have been your only chance to sell the domain
as you may have missed another real buyer
they may have used the domain in a destructive way
All valid points, that is why I like to set my monthly money to a high enough....500 or more, so the buyer feels invested in the name and buys. I am not for this 80 or 50 per month thing. No way, lol
@DAN.COM i dont have an option add background and cant change the font color from green to another.😐
I have already switched back to the 12 installments (no lease) with Make Offer!
This way I can still have BIN and / Make Offer on my landers!
I don't trust buyers paying more than a year while "RENTING".( I'm not in this to rent names) They may simply back out, decide it's not worth it, Plus on a xx,xxx name( this added interest is Not pleasing)
Also I I have realized one other "hurdle" of why my offers have slowed since using 80% dan landers......The buyer HAS to Stop and Make an Account first to send one! Where as on my efty landers....it was a painless fill out your name, email, offer and message and hit send BOOM done, contact with seller, and INFO!
Going to stick with it a lil awhile more, but feel I'm going to start moving some of my landers here shortly.
I agree the "boxes" are un-needed, where some things should take priority others are instead, just the simple fact to have that over a "contact this seller" button is a simple example.
I test about half of my domains on my own Lander
as I'm not convinced that the DAN versus undeveloped
was a great move
and nobody cares to reply to my request
to have my old undeveloped lander back
Hey guys @Dan I believe you tested thoroughly
but did you do it for .de domains? and german markets?
does any of your online support guys speak german?
I have decades experience with A/B testing
but I can't test anything with DAN
Not sure if there is some confusion? I tested one other domain by making an offer using a new email, just to see if DAN prompts me to create an account. Expectedly, they did not. They simply mailed me a confirmation email and done.
Whats the diff between Und & Dan? I dont get it
we don't get your email, Dan does!
If you don't relay, no chat,Dan relys
Does'not work that way
Your "offer" still goes through "dan" and your new "email" needs to be confirmed by Dan.
It is not Email to Email like a efty lander
No Confusion here.
as everyone can see by countess confusions, questions and comments here now... i believe dan has become complicated for nothing. yes I am a lover of simplicity... and efficiency in all regards of life... but one does not need to be that to realize that these new moves are causing more confusion and chaos than imo positive things.
plz mr Dan... keep things simple.. strive for even more simplicity in future... and concentrate all your efforts (or almost) toward exposure of our listings on your marketplace... and an easy lander for buyers and sellers... this is what makes money in the end! for us... and for you! thanks!
