Having relatives and friends scattered all over the globe, I am getting an overload of input (some on the record and some off the record).

My intention for this thread is for community members from around the world to post first hand stories and/or links to information sources that, for the most part, should be reliable.

In my community, just outside a major southeastern city, 'assets' have been placed. Only because I have friends in both high and low places have I heard about some of this. At this point it is only some basic medical supplies that should be equally distributed anyway in preparation for a natural emergency (hurricane/wildfire/etc.).

I will start with posting a link to a site with current data that seems to come from an aggregate of sources and hope others will do the same as they come across similar sites/pages.

Because of the 'typhoid Mary' spread-ability of this disease, I feel we may be in for a really large spread globally which will impact the global economy and through extension, retail domain prices.

One thing is for sure...things will get worse before they get better.

Novel coronavirus unlikely to disappear in summer, EU report

The new coronavirus is unlikely to disappear in summer, the European Union agency for disease control said on Wednesday, in a stark warning that the epidemic could continue when temperatures rise unless measures to hamper it are applied.

Of course we know China is under reporting numbers but:

Spain's coronavirus death toll surpasses that of China

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...ll-surpasses-that-of-china-idUSKBN21C21Z?il=0

well u know... if we all know china govnment is nothing but a bunch of control freak power hungry komunist gangsters ala stalin.. who do not give a damn about human life and will do anything to preserve power and control... then... technically... we do not really know for sure if spains death toll > china

@alcy

Also to add, in one of your previous posts to a video, it mentioned that they were weighing the gold that people were wearing as they were leaving Italy, tho I couldn't confirm that with any other sources during a quick search. Crazy if that's the truth.

yep I reember that too from a video.. crazy indeed.. but gold is gold.. so if they wanna keep track of it.. or confiscate or buy back at some reduced cost like 100 years ago... then why wouldnt jewlery be part of it all... 100 years ago when they made it illegal, jewelry wasn't part of it.. but it could be now...

the thing about buying metals is that governments still can and usually do require your ID to buy.. depending where you go I guess.. and then depending on governemnt etc (thogh if we end up with nwo and one world governemnt then its not about different governments any more) they can still confiscate it... or force you to sell cheap etc.

at this stage it should be a valid question for anyone who has hard earned savings in their bank, whether its 1000$ or 10 000$ etc... whether its better to own precious metals or cash... same cash the fed just said they can and will print into infinity if needed. so there goes your hyperinflation.... and many people are beginning to wonder about it...

now as I Said before, even if u do decide to buy silver or gold now... well.. its a problem.. cause its hard to find (Everyone buying it, mints factories shut down, mines shutting down etc)... and if you do find it... you will be charged a good % over market price

looks like either way, we're kinda screwed.

remeber buying gold or silver is not about getting rich in recession... its about not getting poorer and preserving the savings you have.. if cash or other things lose value.

but this last video I posted is very revealing.. wathc it folks... he's just stating some facts... connect the dots... virus is real.. deaths are real... but virus can stil be smokescreen to someting else..

some known politician who proably regeretted it later, once said... we should never let a good crisis go to waste...

someting like that.. u get the point.

keep an open mind. its all you can do in situations like these. else you just wake up too late.

Yep, if it gets extreme, ID will be required to buy, sell or trade precious metals...a 'fixed' rate ie: $25 an ounce for silver could be set. Mind you I said extreme.

At one time I had 100 ounce silver bars...even used one to prop open a door as a 'conversation' piece. They are all gone now and I've moved that 'extreme' money into other things after I discovered what 'could' be done to that wealth.

it certainly does appear that way, with Russia volunteering physical aid to the US along with all the other stars appearing to be lining up, it does look like what ever is exactly going down isn’t far away from happening.

A very sad situation. Same thing happened 2 days ago in Spain and yesterday in Portugal in old folks homes. In Spain it was even worse. in that they found several dead among them that hadn't been reported. In France apparently they are not counting the dead in these retirement homes as part of the Covid stats. I imagine a lot of countries are hiding stats as well, especially China! A lot of panic starting to happen as deaths start spiraling!

China must not be allowed to 'rewrite history' on COVID-19

Tedros Ghebreyesus, a staunch Marxist, is WHO’s Director-General and was in the Ethiopian government before his current job. China has a lot going on with major investments in Ethiopia. I think he’s keeping his mouth shut because of that reason. It’s time to expose everyone trying to cover up the Wuhan Virus.

It should be noted that Tedros Ghebreyesus acted the same way in relation to the Ebola outbreak. And now history repeats itself. Only the virus changed... yet this Marxist idiot still remains as Director-General of WHO.

The Chinese government should get punished for this and it is the responsibility of every citizen of every country to make sure their governments acknowledge this point. JUSTICE FOR THE DEAD!!!

Start by banning all Chinese food imports and then start bringing factories back to Europe and North America, where they should NEVER have left...

wel there are countries already now where you need ID to buy gold.. for any amount.

i think i read somewhere that not long ago... in ussr i think.. you could go to jail for owning gold.

1kg silver is like 500$ now I think. so that's still an affordable investment for most people... or just as nice door stopper :)

either way, silver gold are hard to get apparently... its a domino effect... people wanna protect their wealth, so they wanna buy gold silver... but mints and mines shutting down due to virus..

its still beyond belief to me we went from one way of life to another this fast... looks like they're not gona let this crisis go to waste either, and do their thing, and the world may never again be like before.

yep, but it was intended to leave China, by China, and they probably have more where that came from should the situation he speaks of happen. Xi wants it all, Putin as well, so should all countries pull away from them, will they answer with a response, time will tell I guess

the thing is, if shit completely hits the fan, precious metals probably won’t do well to barter with, I think it would be more like , I will give you some meat , for some Fish type of bartering

well u know... they've been using silver/gold coins for millenia.. to buy with.. to get paid with etc.. i think was it egyptians that considered silver more valuable than gold.. which tells you that even value of those is totally decided by us... in the end.. everything is decided by us... the governments in most cases.. for fiat... kings and other rulers in the past may have decided on value of coins etc...

so yeah.. i mean there was a time longtime ago where a soldier or somehting had to fight for like a week or something to earn one silver coin.. stuff like that.. so that gives you an idea of what things could still be worth one day in future..

but when you really think about it... would you rather own something that is a piece of paper, they can print into infinit as they said now.. backed by noting other than yer confidence in your gouvernment (which now isn't high).. or would you rather own a gold coin.. which for 5000 years had value.. which takes billion dollar equipments and mines to mine.. factories to mint...
or effort of poor people in africa or other countries where people risk their lives to mine a tiny piece of your gold coin ... not to get rich but just to buy food for few days for their kids...
bit like so:

I agree, there would be a ton of scammers out there peddling their fools good, fake coins, etc. I just don't see it being practical for everyday people. Most folks aren't precious metals experts, don't have proper scales, etc. In that scenario, I think the desired/tradable items would be obvious stuff like cars, guns, ammo, water, food, flour, medicine, tools, shelter, fuel, backpacks, services, etc.

I agree, I think it would have to have survival value

Looks like Trump has his mind made up, an hour ago:

"The LameStream Media is the dominant force in trying to get me to keep our Country closed as long as possible in the hope that it will be detrimental to my election success. The real people want to get back to work ASAP. We will be stronger than ever before!"

Donald J. Trump

As far as taxes, just got back from the accountant. The April 15th deadline has been pushed back to July 15th, but what normally is the second payment on June 15, still stands. So this year, what typically would be your second payment, will actually be your first. For those paying quarterly such as myself.

Trump live now

Another front line fighter against the enemy has fallen...please take a moment to send prayers and/or good thoughts. Maybe someone should just explain to her and her family that 'it's just the flu'...maybe that will make it all better.

NYC paramedic hospitalized with coronavirus sedated, breathing with ventilator as condition worsens, family says

https://www.nydailynews.com/coronavirus/ny-coronavirus-fdny-paramedic-young-virus-20200324-74tadm2skjb7zeuwb2xhwvtfoi-story.html#nt=oft-Double Chain~Flex Feature~top-version1~paramedic-858p~~1~yes-art~curated~curatedpage

I hope scientists in the US are looking at any possible mutated new strain of the virus, her being so young and healthy is somewhat contrary to what is being reported. God Bless you Ms.Cadet, May God heal you or take you,

US Army calls on medical retirees to help with coronavirus response

The US Army has reached out to retired medical personnel to possibly volunteer to support the coronavirus response effort.

In an email obtained by CNN, the Army called upon retired personnel on Wednesday looking for “voluntary recall of retired soldiers” with specific medical specialties.

“We need to hear from you STAT!” the Army said.

The Army is asking for help from retired soldiers qualified in these specialties: “60F: Critical Care Officer; 60N: Anesthesiologist; 66F: Nurse Anesthetist; 66S: Critical Care Nurse; 66P: Nurse Practitioner; 66T: ER Nurse; 68V: Respiratory Specialist; 68W: Medic.”

A spokesperson for the Army said they’re “gauging the availability and capabilities of our retired career medical personnel to potentially assist with Covid-19 pandemic response efforts if needed.”

“These extraordinary challenges require equally extraordinary solutions and that's why we're turning to you — trusted professionals capable of operating under constantly changing conditions. When the Nation called — you answered, and now, that call may come again," the email to retirees said.
