There are other ways to have Covad immunity than getting the virus and recovering from it. Many people have T Cell immunity already:

    https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-06-immunity-covid-higher-shown.html

And then there may be a genetic immunity. Europeans received that immunity by going through 2 Bubonic Plagues. Around 10% of Europeans carry a mutation that prevents HIV from entering cells and damaging their immune system.

Herd immunity may be closer than realised.

COVID-19 cases are 12 times higher than reported says MIT paper

A new paper by MIT Sloan system dynamics professors and, with PhD candidate Tse Yang Lim, examines many of these relationships to give a global view of the pandemic. (The paper is available as a preprint and not yet been peer reviewed.)

Among the findings: Infections are 12 times higher and deaths 50 percent higher than previously reported, but herd immunity is “not a viable path out of the current pandemic,” Rahmandad said. And the value of testing erodes as the virus spreads, leaving measures like social distancing, better hygiene, and wearing masks the most useful way to contain the coronavirus.

The researchers were also able to estimate the Infection Fatality Rate — the probability of death after becoming infected — across nations and over time. That rate depends not only on the age and health of the population, but on the adequacy of health care and the effectiveness of protections for the most vulnerable, including the elderly, poor, and minorities, who often live in more crowded conditions, are less able to work from home, and are less likely to have access to good health care and hospitals. The researchers estimate IFR to be 0.68% on average, but find it varies substantially across nations: approximately 0.56% for Iceland, 0.64% for New Zealand, 0.99% for the United States, 1.59% for the UK, and 2.08% for Italy.

Scientists warn of potential wave of COVID-linked brain damage

A study by researchers at University College London (UCL)described 43 cases of patients with COVID-19 who suffered either temporary brain dysfunction, strokes, nerve damage or other serious brain effects.

The research adds to recent studies which also found the disease can damage the brain.

Whether we will see an epidemic on a large scale of brain damage linked to the pandemic – perhaps similar to the encephalitis lethargica outbreak in the 1920s and 1930s after the 1918 influenza pandemic – remains to be seen,” said Michael Zandi, from UCL’s Institute of Neurology, who co-led the study.

My worry is that we have millions of people with COVID-19 now. And if in a year’s time we have 10 million recovered people, and those people have cognitive deficits ... then that’s going to affect their ability to work and their ability to go about activities of daily living,” Adrian Owen, a neuroscientist at Western University in Canada, told Reuters in an interview

Although we all know this is just the flu and there is a worldwide conspiracy faking illnesses and deaths (so say those that still look under their beds for the boogeyman), Florida ICU beds are now at 85% capacity. Perhaps they are putting mannequins under the sheets in an attempt to fool us...those wacky hospital workers!!!

Current Covid19 death numbers as of 8:00 am EST are below, primarily from the source in the original post (https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus). If your country of interest is not listed below, simply go to the link above to do a search for relevant information.

I think it's hard to get an accurate count. In some cases the hospitals are under-reporting it (to make their numbers look better?), in some cases the deaths were attributed to something else, such as a heart attack, and I've also heard that nursing homes haven't been giving complete counts. I hope that at some point a review will be undertaken so we will have the correct numbers.

    There's a multi-organic damage, unfortunatelly.
Covid-19 is a vascular disease, it doesn't stay just on the respiratory system.
And that's because it's a vascular disease, that it can reach and affect every point of the body.

You can bet everybody is under-reporting. You have to multiply the infected people for 10 times more, and the death toll number 1,5 times more, at least.
The reported deaths are only the ones that happens at hospitals and have been tested previously as covid-19 positive.
There are a lot of people that have died at home, or nursing homes, that are not included into the covid-19 number.

    According to the CDC

In the flu season, 2017 to 2018, 45 million had flu symptoms, 21 million saw a doctor, 810,000 were hospitalized, and 61,000 died. There were an average of 61,000 deaths annually since 2010.

In the 2018-19 flu season, 2,450 people between the ages of 18 and 49 died of the flu in the United States.

So far, total deaths from COVID-19 are:

9 deaths in ages under 1 year
6 deaths in ages 1-4 years
14 deaths in ages 5-14 years
142 deaths in ages 15-24 years
770 deaths in ages 25-34 years
1972 deaths in ages 35-44 years
5488 deaths in ages 45-54 years
13465 deaths in ages 55-64 years
23333 deaths in ages 65-74 years
29780 deaths in ages 75-84 years
37247 deaths in ages 85+ years
    112226 deaths in all ages

And a large portion of the deaths were because Democratic Governors forced nursing homes to admit COVID-19 infected patients.

It looks like South Africa is preparing for a worst case scenario...as a result of the information below, taken from the link provided, I am adding South Africa to the list.

-Officials in one South African coronavirus hotspot are preparing 1.5 million graves, The Associated Press reported. Gauteng province, which includes the cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria, has more than 71,000 known cases of COVID-19, or about one third of South Africa's total. Overall, South Africa has more than 215,000 cases and is reporting some the world's highest daily totals for new infections.

Your Mask Cuts Own Risk by 65 Percent

A range of new research on face coverings shows that the risk of infection to the wearer is decreased by 65 percent, said Dean Blumberg, chief of pediatric infectious diseases at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

    Lancet Link to the study.

Our search identified 172 observational studies across 16 countries and six continents, with no randomised controlled trials and 44 relevant comparative studies in health-care and non-health-care settings (n=25 697 patients). Transmission of viruses was lower with physical distancing of 1 m or more, compared with a distance of less than 1 m (n=10 736, pooled adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 0·18, 95% CI 0·09 to 0·38; risk difference [RD] −10·2%, 95% CI −11·5 to −7·5; moderate certainty); protection was increased as distance was lengthened (change in relative risk [RR] 2·02 per m; pinteraction=0·041; moderate certainty). Face mask use could result in a large reduction in risk of infection (n=2647; aOR 0·15, 95% CI 0·07 to 0·34, RD −14·3%, −15·9 to −10·7; low certainty), with stronger associations with N95 or similar respirators compared with disposable surgical masks or similar (eg, reusable 12–16-layer cotton masks; pinteraction=0·090; posterior probability >95%, low certainty). Eye protection also was associated with less infection (n=3713; aOR 0·22, 95% CI 0·12 to 0·39, RD −10·6%, 95% CI −12·5 to −7·7; low certainty). Unadjusted studies and subgroup and sensitivity analyses showed similar findings.

Like ‘a Bus Accident a Day’: Hospitals Strain Under New Flood of Covid-19 Patients

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/09/us/coronavirus-hospitals-capacity.html

I.C.U. units are reaching capacity. Nurses are falling sick, contributing to shortages. The new coronavirus spikes are challenging hospitals across the United States.

“When hospitals and health care assistants talk about surge capacity, they’re often talking about a single event,” said John Sinnott, chairman of internal medicine at the University of South Florida and chief epidemiologist at Tampa General Hospital. “But what we’re having now is the equivalent of a bus accident a day, every day, and it just keeps adding.”

Here is a list of 70 research papers on efficacy of masks.

If someone asks: What's the evidence for mask wearing? Here is a list of *SEVENTY* papers, including reviews/meta-analysis and individual studies, in reverse chronological order. Includes 31 from 2020 alone (!!). META = meta-analysis or systematic review.

I am told by friends and relatives in the medical field that the first cases related to the 4th celebrations are starting to show up. They have also mentioned the high percentage of people that feel they were exposed at those gatherings are not wanting to share the names of others they have been breathing on since that time. As of now I am not revising my projections for Oct 15th, but I'm afraid it will be closer to the top number than the lower. All this and we are still in the first wave...

Cannabis (esp CBD) may help prevent coronavirus. Many international studies report promising results that particular strains have shown to prevent the virus from entering cells. There is also evidence that smoking in general may make one more vulnerable to COVID.

Researchers were able to identify 13 CBD extracts that are able to change ACE2 levels, an enzyme previously linked to COVID-19 infection. The data also suggested that some strains were also able to control serine protease TMPRSS2, which is another protein necessary for COVID-19 to enter host cells and spread throughout the body.

Dr. Scott Gottlieb estimates as many as 1 in 150 people in U.S. are infected with coronavirus

Dr. Scott Gottlieb told CNBC on Friday he believes there continues to be a significant number of unreported coronavirus cases in the U.S., suggesting as many as 1 in 150 people in the country could be infected.

“We must have well over 700,000 infections a day, even though we’re only diagnosing about 60,000,” Gottlieb said on “Squawk Box.” “Before, when we had come down, and we were sort of burning around 20,000 diagnosed infections a day, the conventional wisdom was the prevalence was 1 in 200 people. Now, it must be higher than that.”

Dozens of Mississippi lawmakers have coronavirus after weeks of refusing to wear masks

About one in six state lawmakers have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to Dr. Thomas Dobbs of the Mississippi Health Department.
For weeks, politicians flouted mask recommendations inside the state Capitol. Twenty-six state legislators have now tested positive for Covid-19, including Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann and State House Speaker Philip Gunn. Neither man wore a mask at a bill signing at the governor's mansion last week.
