Take some time to look up. It should be possible. Change the parked page to something else, less anonymous and less boring.
Just a simple page telling the domain is for sale?
When contacting end users, companies, try to contact more than one person, people at different departments, the webmaster.

A short domain and a very known extension, .net. Companies may use the .net for international business. A big company might pay $xxxx. Take some time to investigate your possibilities!

What is your price expectation? Remember as a rule of thumb, .net = 10% of .com or less.

Also the .com is owned by an Italian Restaurant Chain (my guess is that they have no interest in the .net) Might have a slight issue with losing traffic to a conpetition if you go the Italian Restaurant angle.

Certainly no hard rule with an end user. For many it will be 0% (especially if they already own the .com), others might be willing to pay a good sum for the .net. Most end users will view .net as being inferior to .com, but not all -- some actually prefer .net, something you won't find in domain land.
