Confused on backorders

Can somone explain to be how wxactly they work? i place a backorder like 3 months ago and be waiting til today i got an email sayin that the domain expiration date changed to march 29 2009 ! i was like wtf?? so wat does that meaen im gettin my money back or wat?? thanks

It simply means that the owner of the domain re-registered the domain, and if you want it, you'll have to wait till 2009 to see if it expires. More than likely, you won't get your money back, you'll probably get a credit which you can apply to another backorder, depending on which company you used for your backorder.

Who have the priority of getting a domian reregistered ?

The current owner or some other backorder service agents ?
