.COM has more than double the usage of the rest of the top 10 combined. That shows how dominant it is.

NET/ORG and solid ccTLD are also used a fair amount.

The entire new gTLD program is essentially a non-factor when it comes to usage.

.XYZ - 0.3%
.ONLINE - 0.2%
.CLUB - 0.1%

And those are the top ones...

Usage wil decrease over time as companies atart to use

A person only has to look at the domain names owned by these
Big companies etc and how many domain names a big company needs to own to defend a brand name etc

Any big company will need to own between 1500 -3000+ domain names just to defend a few brand names they own and they havent got the time and money and effort to waste not buying the trademark infringing gtlds of their brands etc

Its just easier and cheaper to buy the relevant gtlds of their brand on auto renew etc

And many domain name registrars now list extensive gtld extensions when a person enters a keyword in to a domain name registrar and all a person has to do is sxroll down the list for 10 mins and add the domains that would infringe their brand and pay the registrar which solves much of a brands problems etc

Companies arent as stupid as they are being made out to be

Eg being told tgey need the .com

When in realitt they need every extension that infringes their brand

Pretty good showing for .IN , if you add the Traffic as a metric, .in and .co.in will figure higher in terms of usage. Wouldn't be surprised if they are in Top 3. - Google.co.in , Amazon.in are some examples with huge traffic volume in India
