Wow, I just noticed as the Aug 23 data was added into NameBio that there are 114 .co sales on Aug 23, 2018 mainly from GoDaddy, so I guess the backlog problem sorted itself out! Average price $350 although one name got $2159.

LOL Guess we'll see more bidders going forward. Chunks of good names come up every now and then. As @MarketMarket mentioned a few pages ago the small business fail rate is high so probably that or portfolio drops. Usually they are owned by different people if I recall, can check on whois.co if curious.

I won a .co expired auction yesterday but will likely get renewed. Are they all the same registrant? I'm sure there used to be a prolific .co owner that let them expire every year to get a value then renewed them all.

to find out if same owner, you can begin by checking if same registrar. that could given a hint.. which registrear is it? its not a guarantee.. but its a start

with all these premium renewals on 1word and 3l.co
I'm hoping it was worth the renewals etc for couple last years
let's hope this otherwise pretty crappy premium pricing plan will be increasing values of some stuff we domainers are already holding. it could well be the case.

Just checked and mine is at a different registrar to those on the list higher up the thread so maybe I'll get to keep it. Also wouldn't they all appear as renewed anyway as the registry has to renew for a year to auction the name? Or does that show are something else on who is lookup?

I bid on a number of .co yesterday and was outbid on every single one by at least one other bidder every time.

I am not going to lie I was thinking at the time there was something suspicious about the bidding, law of averages would have expected to win at least 1 or 2 but nothing makes me a bit suspicious and all outbid in the last 5 minutes without exception.

The fact some are mentioning these domains got renewed doesn't surprise me at all, without looking my guess is they were either renewed last minute or transferred elsewhere. I am not bidding on any other .co domains today at godaddy, I don't fancy wasting more time. At a guess I would say this was the owner getting an appraisal from the market but can't prove it so for now it's just a guess.

I currently own 1 premium lll .co - abx co which I bought at sedo auction, great for an exchange, crypto coin or a gold exchange such as is used by the .com. May have to hold long term for the best offer but same with everything.

me I like co in general.. but so do many others.. and there are tons of sales to prove its value and potential.. so its not some random liking.

I have no idea about premium renewal rate for any .co names now. its all confusing now.
someone just said there will be no premium renewal rates. all standard. and its just premium rate to reg/buy some names.

no it is not. its regular price.

first of all I don't think premium prices will kick in before sept1... at least not on 3l.co.. minus some testrun names from past..

and secondly, premium prices arenm't supposed to apply to renewals.. as far as I know. only to new regs/buys.

DomainIQ.com paid service has a WhoIs history feature that might help spot abusers of the expired auctions. Look for the same registrar or owner for example. Probably can try it for a month then stop paying. I think it's month to month. I wish Estibot would do that too.

This information loop is making me nuts. Everyone is getting confused. Please keep people informed so we don't lose the sales volume trend.

Tiered pricing, as we figured out a few pages ago on this thread, can mean (1) the initial price, (2) the renewal price, (3) or both. ALL .co domain names, without exception, renew at the same standard rate. I pay $24.99/yr at GoDaddy. That's much better than premium forever. .CO is higher than .COM because they pay a fee to Colombia and have value added services (for whatever it's worth).

.CO is capturing some expired domains and marking them as 'reserved' in the whois record viewable at whois.go. We are expecting them to release 'more' reserved domains at a premium initial price. The policy has been in effect since 2014. If your backorder fails, check if it was 'reserved' visible in the whois for example.

After Sept 1 everyone please try to register any marked 'reserved' and drop a note into this thread so we get an idea of the up front premium amount charged, any abvious price range in tiers, etc.
