The $0.99 all-inclusive .CO promo will kick off on this Sunday night at 5 pm PT, 8 pm ET, which is 00:00 GMT on Monday morning. It will last 7 days.

All domains registered at Epik include:

- Free WHOIS privacy
- Free SSL parking landers
- Free forwarding
- Free basic Wordpress site
- Free listing in Epik marketplace for selling/leasing

Brandable names are doing particularly well in the after-market for .CO, e.g. 7 letters or shorter, pronounceable .co can be registered for $0.99 and sold for retail prices as brands.

I have no idea why people buy .AI and .IO when they get the more reputable and cheaper .CO and get the first year basically for free.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Very nice hand registrations in the last few minutes:

Fables.co
Lots of short brandable .co domains, e.g. 7 letters and shorter.
Lots of LNN.co domains.

All for $0.99 each.

Who says you cannot hand-reg anymore? Nonsense. @Nametree among others is killing it.

If I were a bootstrap domainer, I would be doing these big-time and then flipping them asap to end-users who should logically own them. I would cover the acquisition costs with a few quick sales and then hold out for inbound inquiries on the rest.

Thanks @Rob Monster I got few domains.

Can you suggest me a site that would bring out brandable words for me to register? (Not that usualy domain name generator)

Thanks
Harry

What a great deal! I just increased my .co holdings by a factor of about 7.

Spent good part of yesterday and today trying various words to see which available as non-premium, then checking for relevant active TM, and used NameBio to look at comparable sales, and Dofo to see what other extensions registered and for sale. Spent quite a few hours, but eventually came up with a list I was happy with and from that this evening quickly registered about 40 (Epik was very smooth for registration).

Thanks @Rob Monster and Epik for such a great deal, and giving us the heads up about it here on NPs.

It was such a good deal that I even registered a word that honestly probably does not have much potential as a business domain name, but the term stuck with me since elementary school (which was a long time ago for me :xf.grin:) and it has a nice sound, so at $0.99 I now own iambic :xf.smile:.

Thanks again,

Bob

It is a broad question. There is no doubt that .com is the most desired, and most valuable, extension by far. With 130 million plus registrations in .com almost everything is being held by someone (not to say that one can't find hand regs, but it is hard). Some companies that can't afford a .com turn to a .co. It has for years had a relatively strong resale market. For example past 2 years on NameBio (many venues do not report there so real number higher) about 1150 sales with an average price of $1630. Now most of those are in single word .co, and not many single word .co still around to hand register, at least not desired ones, but at $0.99 for the first year (an amazing price - usually first year .co are about $6 is the best deal) to me it passed my risk / probability of sale / potential return test. If I sell one I am way positive. If I sell none, not too much invested. But each person must make the right choice for themselves.

OK, picked up my first .co domains........ I have stayed away from this extension up to this point, but 99 cents is a good way to experiment. I picked up a few product domains, and several related to mesh wifi.

Does anyone know any fast ways to separate registry premiums? Almost all names I checked were registry premiums priced at $128.

.Co should have eliminated the premium prices for a few days along the special price promo...

Many folks are continue to crush it on this promo picking up some excellent domains.

I congratulate Neustar for doing this promo. This is not some obscure ICANN gTLD. This is a TLD that is in the same league as .AI and .IO in terms of perceived respectability. With .ORG removing the price caps, I see .CO as being in the top 3 long term, superior to .ORG for most organization types.

Two important points:

1. Many registrars got an anniversary .CO promo deal from Neustar this month. For reasons that are a mystery to me, most registrars elected to time their flash sale for later in the month. We started ours at exactly 00:00 GMT on July 1, the earliest time slot possible.

2. The registrar's hard cost on these .CO is $1 during the 7 day flash sale. We decided to subsidize it slightly by absorbing the payment processing fees. I expect most registrars will add a margin. Therefore it is unlikely that we'll see many others doing this attractive a .CO promo.

As I look at the domains folks are picking up for $0.99 each, I won't be surprised if this .CO promo ends up being the single highest source of ROI in 2019 for some domainers. Buy Low Sell High.

There are a lot of domains that probably should be premium that are not. I think Neustar did it right in the sense that they did not hold back a vast amount of worthy inventory via registry reserve and premiums. Of the newer TLDs, I think it is the most like .COM in terms of pricing strategy. It makes sense as it also one of the more obviously generic TLDs which logically rivals .COM as it is actually shorter. Pretty much nobody outside of the domain industry knows that .CO started as the Columbian ccTLD just as almost nobody gets that .AI is Anguilla or .IO is Indian Ocean!

From our direct message just now, it sounds like you got your issue resolved.

We do have some fraud mitigation technologies in place. Occasionally it detects someone as being trouble when they are not, e.g. if they use a free VPN which is also being used by known scammers, for example.

If you run into that issue, try turning off the VPN long enough to get through checkout. Better yet, get a better VPN. The VPN from Anonymize.com VPN is really good and has a free option.

Last year Porkbun did it for 1.45. Looked good at the time, but current Epik deal is way better!
