Does anyone have any experience merging different CMS open source packages?

Wouw. I have never heard of that! I use only drupal and there are some intergrations to some forums scripts such as phpbb. but never heard of merging two different cmses

Why would you want to merge 2 cms packages. Obviously I can understand why you would integrate a forum for example or a helpdesk but not another CMS.

However how easy the integration would be really depends on how they manage users and the names of tables they use for example. Also ho well the package is coded plays a major factor as well.
