It was a dropping domain, that somehow got put into his account, is he shown on any whois record, it doesn't make sense that gets assigned to dynadot, then namebright? If he feels the name is worth the fight, by all means, go for it.

They have to follow the drop path, and see what went wrong, I know dynadot can't beat dropcatch, so obviously it wasn't meant for them, unless when dynadot went to register it failed, but somehow they showed it internally. Most times dynadot shows in the message section as failed.

I had a similar problem with another registrar. Many hours and energy spent on something that was not my fault but in the end I did not get the name back. It was not that good anyway but I understand your frustration.

May I suggest you get away from dyndot and go with Epik or NameSilo for a better domaining experience. It looks as though NameSilo is very active on nps which is a huge bonus.

Something is definitely off about this domain.
It was registered on 2018-01-01 by one of the DropCatch registrars. But look at the time - 23:59 UTC
This is off of any normal drop time. .ORG domains are dropped at 01:00 UTC, though they can't be registered at that point as they first go into this infamous "dropzone".
Starting 14:30 UTC registrar like dropcatch with dropzone-access can register those domains before they are available to the public some minutes later.

Maybe the domain was dropped during the add-grace period which can happen at any random time, thus this unusual registration date/time for a drop

Yea, but don't they use their main accreditation for normal registrations instead of the "DropCatch XXX" registrars?

It is not mandatory to use their main accreditation...
Random accreditation was used from their pool...

There was an error with PIR on a bunch of domains (approximately 100 through us, not sure how many w/ other Registrars).

They allowed some Registrars to "register" domains that were already registered. I'm not sure how the Engineering of that would work as it relates to who would be able to set Name Servers and so on, but in that case, PIR deleted the domains from our Registrar.

There was another error where they rejected some registrations that shouldn't have been. An Engineer mentioned we got some domains back, so that is what I assume this was in reference to.

    Regards,
    Isaiah Bradley

    PIR is just frontend...
Technically .ORG registry is maintained by Afilias.info

    3rd email- '' Hello,

Our apologies for the inconvenience but as mentioned, the registry informed us that the domain was allowed to be registered due to an error on their part on Dec 29 PST and was later removed by them and your account credited. Unfortunately we're not able to further assist in this case.

    Best Regards,
    Nina Wang ''

i am going to move on from this matter.
but really sad with dynadot behavior:xf.frown:. without any warning how they remove any name. they need to investigate first.
some of friends told that ' this name is worthless' ' this is a hand reg domain' and more.

but matter is not for the domain name just think if this was your established website and then happened this. just feel it.:xf.frown:

ok. friend anyways i just move on from this matter. and caught another great domain in namecheap.:xf.smile:

i am continously use dynadot but after this matter i just shocked.

if @Dynadot back my domain into my account without any extra cost then again i continuously use dynadot.

    and @Yusupbabay happy selling.

Yup. @Dynadot has screwed over others as well including me with a backorder. I've pretty much stopped using them and would recommend the same to you. Their support is, frequently, like this. Absolutely no consideration and complete shutdown of a discussion like Nina Wang did in your case.

I'd still recommend that you file a complaint with ICANN

If the registry screwed up it's not Dynadot's fault. They did not remove the name "without any warning", since you said yourself they notified you by E-mail.
One thing is certain, the name is not under their control but registered to Dropcatch. So they cannot give you something they don't have.
However, I think you got a poor response from one of their employees (post), a possible issue with premium pricing was obviously an incorrect assumption.

there is no such thing as premium org. so the higher price you see is just something because it was re-regged and put on some sale network, ending up in the dynadot reg path.

I personally dislike dynadot, their interface is older than dinos, and lamer than lemmings, but for the 5 or so domains I own there I never had isues with anything plus support ok too for calls.

obviously in domaining, domains one owns in their account, disappearing overnite, probably ranks on top of what is considered inappropriate/disturbing behaviour.

but.. mistakes do happen like this one! :)

nah.. not really needed to go that far.
the diff between xyz and org is that errors with org we hear of once every few years.. and with xyz is few times a year.

    imo

    SUMMARY OF TIMELINE
    JEWLERY.ORG (Premium Domain Name :-P )

    1. Domain was not renewed by previous owner and was pending delete on 29.12.2017

    2. @Yusupbabay backordered it on DropCatch

    3. Domain still pending delete with few hours remaining but,

    4. DynaDot allowed @AIS01 to register it by mistake (because PIR allowed it even though it was not available )

    5. @AIS01 registered Jewlery.org (or its ghost) cheered with a beer and posted here on Namepros.

    6. Domain actually dropped at scheduled time (though the expected time and actual time of drop are topic of controversy by dropcatcher pros here in this thread, respect to them)

    7. Dropcatch.com catched the domain and @Yusupbabay won the name (without auction/with auction?)

    8. PIR realized the mistake, notified Dynadot and other registrars of the faulty registrations.

    9. Dynadot rectified it, notified @AIS01 of the mistake, removed the ghost entry from his account and refunded him (though he is not interested in refund obviously).

    10. @AIS01 is furious.

    11. @Yusupbabay listed it as premium domain ($8,888)

    12. @AIS01 is more furious and posted it here.

    13. @Yusupbabay didn't stop there, he came to tease @AIS01
