Can you block / de-index only part of a page?

Hi,

First time of posting in the Web design section of NP. A question which may seem simple and/or stupid but I need to know anyway. I know that individual websites or pages within that website can be blocked from showing up in the SERPs. But what about sections of a page, like individual paragraphs?

I think you cannot do this.. All you can do is not the crawl links on page with the help of no-follow tag....

Put it in an image or an iframe (use robots.txt to block the document that's displayed in the iframe).
