I'm not an expert in the domain industry and this is what I love about NP the expert users just help you a lot with their knowledge, therefore, i'm asking this: if someone told you that you can sell new domains for XXX-XXXX would you believe that?
sure I'm talking about domains with good value or have a huge potential or a good name etc, not domains like crappy.com :whistle::whistle::whistle: I mean we all know how much crappy.com worth.
also, guys if someone had experienced this I will appreciate your sharing.
does it really matter the age of the domain if it was a good one?

That is an awful wide price range. Can someone sell new domains for low $XXX?
Probably, if they are decent and with enough effort.

So far this month I've sold 4 domains in mid $XXX range with 2017 reg dates, i.e. hand regs. There might be more accumulated interest with aged domains but otherwise doesn't matter at all. Expect that you end up paying stupid prices for them IMO.

    Edit: Btw, no outbound efforts...

Edit 2: This month started especially well for me...

Edit 3: To be clear, I spend 95% of my domaining time (~8 hours a day) to find available domains to reg. And reg probably 1 in every 50 available (and still reg a lot of crap too). And to be even more clear, I'd consider only something like 2% of those reg'd domains as investments in the strick sense, rest are just OK to good domains that I'm perfectly happy to drop if various metrics aren't good enough.

Most of my domains resolve to Uni landers but are also part of Afternic DLS. Sales are pretty much 50/50 between aforementioned platforms. Actually, more sales through Afternic...And some occasional Sedo, Flippa sales.

Sure, do that a lot too. Also, various industry specific newsletters, various lists of domains (and words [and phrases]), crazy amounts of googling, and my latest favorite for finding some hidden gems, i.e. collocation dictionaries (and dictionaries in general). Not to mention pending deletes of the day which are good for both brainstorming domains and to find that occasional reggable domain that dropcatchers miss.

Edit: In addition, I also go through all the thousands of lists I've generated during the years of my domaining probably twice a year or so.

I have my special "domaining book" - I do write down every domain with potential, because I can't reg them all at once hehe :xf.grin::xf.cool:

It seems that dotster is not using the $1.99 anymore. So any promo is welcome:xf.grin:

Of course if you hand-register 1000 domains, you will sell at least one for $xxx :)
The real question is whether it is possible to make a profit by hand-registering.
Yes, it is possible, but so difficult to learn that it is not recommended, unless you know exactly what you are doing. You are usually better off using all that money to buy more valuable and sellable domains.

This is true. And. When I started, five or six years ago or so, there were A LOT more decent inventory to be reg'd than there is now. And I'm simply starting to run out of ideas where to look besides pending deletes for the first time... Which has forced me to buy more and more aftermarket domains. Expensive...

But yeah, I'd say it's virtually impossible to start building a profitable portfolio based on. COM regs in 2017. Or not worth the effort.

Yes, of course I can believe that I can do that.
    But that's not my goal.
My goal is to settle the biggest domain deal in the history of internet.

If the likes of bill Gates, Warren buffet want your name, it doesn't matter how old. Good name, luck and God!
