Can redirecting typo domains hurt my main site?

I have multiple typo domains with small but steady traffic.


If I 301 redirect them directly to my money site, can this damage the main domain (trust, spam signals, future rankings)?


Is using a buffer domain or intermediate redirect safer, or should typo domains be kept completely separate from SEO-focused sites?

A 301/302 redirect can help or hurt the domain it points to depending on each of the domains themselves. Remember, you pass the positive and negative values to the new domain.

In short:

• If the domain has traffic + Good ranking data = Positive impact on the domain it directs to
• If the domain has a spam score, banned, blacklisted, bad neighbor devaluing factors, etc. = Negative impact on the domain it directs to
