Simple question

If someone sets up an auction here on Namepros do they have an obligation to sell to people who are on their ignore list?

Can you stipulate in the auction post that if you are on ignore then you are not eligible to bid?

I mean if they are on ignore it is possible to miss clicking show ignored comments, I do this all the time in threads where they have commented.

Yes, ignored members can bid on your auctions. It's on our to-do list to disable the ignore feature in marketplace sections.

Blocked members would not be able to participate in your auctions, and we hope to offer this feature sometime this year.

In the meantime, if you do not want someone to bid on your auction, here are some options:
You can review the block options at the following link:
You can also set other criteria to block certain members from your auction(s):
  • Rule 6.1.24. Participatory criteria, eligibility, and restrictions imposed by sellers on their sales listings and auctions must be reasonable (e.g., established members only or bidders must have ten positive Trade Reviews) and must be nondiscriminatory based on race, gender, personal preferences or opinions, etc.
If you do not block certain people from your auction, then they may participate and you must honor that. It is your responsibility to set the criteria that you want on your auctions.

We will have easier ways to do this in the future, but these are the only options available at the moment.

We hope that helps.

In an auction on Namepros, sellers generally have the right to establish their own terms and conditions for potential bidders. This may include stipulating that individuals on their ignore list are not eligible to bid. However, it's important to note that while sellers can set certain conditions, they should ensure that these conditions are clearly stated in the auction post.

Bidders who are on the seller's ignore list may indeed be excluded from participating in the auction, as the seller has the authority to decide who is eligible to bid. Sellers can mention in the auction post that individuals on their ignore list are not allowed to bid, but it's advisable to communicate such terms clearly and respectfully.

Ultimately, it's essential for both sellers and bidders to follow the platform's rules and guidelines while participating in auctions to ensure a fair and transparent process for all parties involved.
