Yes, Daaz has .in auctions. But .in registry doesn't want them to be listed on marketplaces and unfortunately some marketplaces, such as Epik obey this request. If an .in domain is registered at Epik, it would be great to sell it there, but no, they can't even be listed. Any others? Is this a legal requirement or just a request?

Great question that has me wondered for ages since I could never get a straight answer.

I can see some marketplaces selling .in with no problem eg. Sedo, some used to allow them but stopped (eg. Epik, Namesilo and, I think a few years ago, Afternic) and others never allowed it at all.

Are we allowed to sell .in domains or even include them in our domains-for-sale website?

Would really like a clear answer to this.

How do you come to a conclusion that .IN registry doesnt want them to be listed on market places? Is there any official circular from them. Appreciate if you can give some evidence to substantiate your statement. We will be happy to rectify our approach to .IN

EPIK has to obey as they are an accredited registrar of .IN and any accredited .IN registrars are not allowed to sell .in domain names, that's the agreement between registrar and registry .

Any market place which is a direct legal entity or subsidiary of an accredited .in registrar is not allowed to participate in .in after market sales. Afternic and godaddy are linked hence there is an issue with Afternic.

EPIK , NameSilo more or less comes under the same segment as above.

Ah, that explains why Afternic used to allow .in but not anymore (after joining GD)

Many thanks, that's some great info there!

It's our pleasure sharing the information we believe is accurate.

Kindly note .IN is one of the 1400+ extensions supported by DaaZ. We are new a market place, we are not specific to one extension. A market place open for all extensions and we are with all openness welcoming all domain investors to join us and take the advantage of our platform ( lowest industry fees with complete charge back protection) .

My source is Epik. They don't allow .in listings, and their excuse is that .in registry doesn't want them to be listed on marketplaces.

Maybe registrars have something to lose (.in registrations), but not other marketplaces, and this is why they obey it (?). (edit: ok, others confirmed this (above) before I posted this).

Oh ok, thanks for sharing your source.

Registrars are not allowed to list names for sale as we have explained above.
