I'm interested in buying a domain that is listed on GD for $1500. However, the domain is also on GD's auction site with a BIN of $500. Can I really get the domain for 1/3 the price simply by buying on the auction site?

I know GD is a terrible registrar, so I want to confirm before I buy. Thanks!

Try it. If there was an error or anything, GoDaddy will refund you. It is not uncommon for auctions listings to be outdated though (listed by previous owner, who no more owns the domain, but did not delete it from auctions).

I am only guessing the name is listed on afternic for 1500 and the seller separately created an auction listing with a 500 bin. GD showed you the afternic results because that is how the system works and that helps a lot of people sell names.

Unless it is an old listing, you should be able to buy it for 500.
